Aston Martin workers to walk out over wages
Just a month after Aston Martin was sold for £479 million ($925 million), workers are threatening to walk out on the new owners. The workers will stage a one hour walk-out to in order to dispute salaries and will also ban working overtime. The union says that the 656 members of their team were concerned about fellow colleagues being paid less than others for the same job.

Members voted in favour of strike action after rejecting an offer for a two-year pay deal worth 6.75%.

Those workers are stupid. They wait until after new people invest hundreds of millions of dollars to buy the company to decide they want increases. All that is on these peoples mind is to start making back there money. I'd fire all of them.

I would fire them as well. Be damned to any law prohibiting such: that is why we have lawyers.

Heck, one of the best things Reagan did was fire the striking air-traffic controllers.

Agreed.

Welcome to the EU. This is why you don't see, EVER, any jobs being exported to Europe.

They want to work less, get paid the same, and keep their jobs.

The workers have every right to do what they plan to do. The problem in this world is an over abundance of corporate greed. These skilled workers not just some entry level job but very skilled workers have worked with management over the years to form a more reasonable contract and all they get in return is stall tactics from the likes of fat management types.

The management teams do not hand build your car or engine that work is done by a highly skilled worker who has years of training and experience. The skilled worker makes his living working for what they believe is the best company for Automobiles. They are loyal to the company in the good times and bad.

Management on the other hand gets up and leaves at the drop of a hat. They claim they do not have the money to fix the current contract while all along they have so many perks and bonuses that it baffles the mind and for what? They make the decsions that place the company on the brink they make descions that the worker follows and then when it all goes to heck they come to the worker for givebacks. Next time you see a company in financial trouble with a labor union blame the management not the worker. The CEO's of these comapnies simply leave and go negotiate to work at a new company. The worker however stays married to the company awaiting the next downturn due to incompetant management.
