Although this article is in German, the Audi A4 1.

8T just won an 11 car shootout in Auto Motor und Sport.

The car not only defeated competitors such as Opel, Chrysler, Saab, and Volkswagen, but it also took down two other German competitors in the form of BMW's 318i and Mercedes' C-class.

It look like the Audi's longer wheelbase and roomier interior is paying off big time for the A4 in the handling department. Where the previous Audi A4 would oversteer tremendously and feel nervous at the limit, this new A4 has much more neutral handling, a more balanced chassis, less understeer, and more confidence at the helm. Audi's interior is truly huge in the new B8 A4 compared to the older model. Rear occupants no longer feel cramped with their knees having little to no room to move around. Now the rear quarters are a comfortable place to be.

Audi's new A4 has been praised time and time again by the media and now we really see the changes paying off in this comparison test.

I was able to get a little paragraph of translated information regarding the A4, so for all of you that don't understand German the following paragraph will explain why the Audi A4 won:

A Auto Motor und Sport subscription is about $180. a year, here in the USA.

Below is a single paragraph translated:

The new A4 possesses a balanced weight distribution and connects neutral handling with balanced suspension comfort. The handling characteristics profit more strongly from the extended wheel base than the interior from the external length grown on 4.70 meters. It locks the tasks of the driving dynamics Parcours as the class-best. If one calculates still problem-free operability, its solid processing and the strongly beginning, economical 1,8-Liter-Direkteinspritzer, the Top placement explains itself automatically.

Cheers, MS
