Great news here from Germany and the Audi A6. The Audi A6 has overtaken the Mercedes E class in May registration results and is now the clear no. 1 in Germany in its class with a market share of 35.9 (!) percent. Congrats to Ingolstadt!

Another ongoing success for Audi are the results of the new Audi TT as it keeps its no. 1 position in the sports car section.

Oh great, now comes oversaturation, it'll be like seeing an Accord or Camry, or RX XXX @ every stoplight in the US.....being number one is a love/hate relationship

The sales figures youve posted are for both A6 and S6. shouldnt you include the M version and AMG version of BMW & MB? Just to stay on the fair side

I actually prefer the E class over the A6 - in my opinion, the Audi looks a bit bland
But it's still a very good car

Not with S-Line. I see what you're saying with a 3.2 (dressed in the bland 17" rims), but the S-Line kit is beautiful.

All this means is that the overal quality of products in the market have improved. We know damn well BMW and MB have maintained excellence..this just shows that Audi has also reached that level. This is a great thing overal. Let's face it, what's great about (these) cars today is that "better" is just a matter of opinion since all cars are about equally great. Just rambling but what are blogs for.. GO LEXUS!!!!!.. jk ;)

Is it me or is it true that audi's are more reliable in EUR than in the USA.. Audi's seemed to be great cars when I lived in EUR, but over here in the USA their reliability sucks!!.

in Europe, the Euros 3 are more reliable ther and better built than here (US) because of poor craftsmanship and the regulations of emissions and other (performance or etc) features.

If it means less 5-Series models to look at, then I'm all for it.

I just got rid of my A6 and replaced it with Infiniti M35x.

yes a lot of the old A6 drivers can not afford the new A6 so they get the Infinity or the Honda

The 2005 A6 and newer is great/ not a big fan of the old car

The A6, 2.7T with 6sp is attractive and fun to drive. I got rid of mine because Audi tried to screw me on a warranty issue. In getting the issue resolved, I contacted the Attorney General of Michigan and found out there are quite a lot of complaints against Audi for "failure to perform under warranty".

The opposite occured in my experience. I had a 2000 A6 2.7T on a five-year lease, which was set for 75,000 miles. Of course, I went up to about 88,000 miles. Interestingly, Audi mistyped the bill for the extra miles, charging me only about $120 instead of the $1,200 it was supposed to be.

After the facelift I think the 5 series is a better car than the audi. Better performance, improved interior quality and materials, and faster. But they are both nice cars. The 5 series is more agressive looking while the A6 is understated.

That's nice. Obviously, most German people think otherwise. As well as Chinese citizens.

With S-Line, the A6 is hot. As is the S6- I saw one in late afternoon (sun was setting) with only the LEDs on, and that car looked AMAZING!

Now that I think of it, if the wife gets an XK convertible, I might look at the S6.

But the S8 could lure me away. It all depends on which one I prefer driving. There's also a wildcard- the upcoming RS6.

Wait for the RS6 to be launched soon, with a face lift, then I am sure that you will see the Audi A6/S6 and the RS6 sales performance will increase world wide. Note that in the past few month's, world wide (Total sales) Audi has sold more A6's than BMW and MB. WHY???
