Audi A6 facelift official details
Joining the new RS6 Sedan at this October’s Paris Motor Show will be the 2009 model year facelift for the standard A6 Sedan and Avant models.
Among the list of updates planned for the new lineup is a range of more efficient engines, significant suspension refinements, a number of safety assistance systems, and a new-generation MMI interface.

All 3 brands you just mentioned are similar in price. So your statement doesn't make sense.
Aside from that...Nice job Audi!... go ahead and copy the once exclusive S5 design into every model now...aspecially the rear tail lights. Pathetic!

Staar, You are such a child...or a deranged fool- you just can't get out of your hate BMW mode(plastic, tin can, toy ,etc -repeat ad nauseum) no matter what the subject matter.
Makes any comment you have immediately disposable.
Grow up, you fatuous child.

Looks a million times nicer. Really like the new taillights and think the front looks great. Looks like a bigger A4 basically. So the new Turbo Six (290hp) has arrived, thats certainly good news and hopefully Audi spreads this engine into other models. Nice update, subtle, but very nice.

good for audi, all they gonna do is design A4, and make it larger to get A6, and make it even larger for A8.

That's the idea!
Just like Toyota: you design the Corolla first, bloat it up a bit to a Camry (still looks OK) then put ground-effects on it, but keep it jacked up (so it looks like its wearing flood-pants) and then you call it a Lexus IS.

looks really nice.
i had the 06' A6 3.2 in my family and was very happy with it, especially the sport mode.

To my eyes, all Audis have become predictable. BMW used to be accused of doing the same thing, just in different sizes. Now I feel that applies to Audi. There is something sterile about their designs. The design is clean, but haven't we all seen it before?

I hope that Audi, along with the other German makers get their diesels to the US sooner rather than later. And not just in the SUV's
3.0L V6 oil-burner with 240hp (176kW) and 332lb-ft (450Nm) of torque.
This is the one to have for A6 or an A4.

Total agreement.
I read an interview with some German Police (Highway Patrol) and they were unanimous that their favourite pursuit car was the A6-3.0-TDI ... they even have 911's in their stable.
I'd like to see this (with DSG) in an R8. I could live with that a long time!

Very conservative design. Still not up to par with Mercedes and BMW.

I'm sorry, A6 may be bland but the 5er just isn't an attractive vehicle appearance-wise. Nice features but overall shape just doesn't work.
Anyways rear end looks good and new engine should be fun, supercharged A6 avant sounds nice, 330-350hp S4 version even better.

Audi did a good job on the restyle and the new supercharged V6 should be a great engine.

Question is, will the 4 or 5 people in the US that buy them yearly even notice or care. Doubtful. And only the most devout VW fan will even notice any changes. The rest will look briefly, and keep driving to the BMW, m-b or toylex dealer.

Why so bitter?
Is it because VW/Audi sells more cars than BMW + Mercedes + Porsche + Lexus combined?
Or is it because Audi's sales are growing faster than BMW/Merc/Lexus ???

The Toyota Corolla..err..Camry..whoops I mean Lexus ES looks great.
Based on your previous comments dating back to 2007, I see that you're a fan of Lexus.
Calling Audi a rebadged VW is like calling Lexus a rebadged Toyota. And the ES/LX/RX/GX do not share parts with Toyota right?

More of the same from Audi I see. Interiors are still top notch, the best in this class I think. Better than my Bimmer and better than MB of Lex. I always love their tailored look of their interiors. The outside is the bigger size of their sedans (as in Big (A4) Bigger (A6) and Biggest (A8)) and all look the same. This is probably my biggest gripe with Audi. Their sedans all have the same look, as well as their Avants. If they varied it some I may have more of a liking to it, but they don't.

Well its better than what BMW do! (Mind you they are appealing to a lower minded kind of consumer so it does not matter what they look like) They most certainly have struck a cord of sophisticated elegance in tension, so I can understand why they are reluctant to venture too far from their great success. They are of course still better than the competition by a long way, even if they are somewhat similar.
I say good for Audi, they lead in style like Lexus leads in quality.

If they kept the A6-Avant looking like the one that debuted in 1999 I'd be happy. Its still possibly the best looking car out there, and almost any changes will just detract from it.
Of the A4's, the '96 had the best rear too ... later models seemed to be change-for-change-sake. Everyone is copying that design, (from Korea to Japan) but Audi doesn't have it anymore.

As for the styling, it seems like change for the sake of change. IMO, no improvement. I think the front looked better before - it seemed cleaner, sharper. While the rear of the previous version wasn't great, this one just looks like the rest of the lineup, and as someone else said, they're diluting the once-exclusive look of the A5/S5.
And I think current Audi interiors (A6, A4) are NOT as good as they've been for the last 10 years...still great, relative to most other makes, but not quite as good as before.
