Motorauthority.com says that the A8 might get the R10's V12 diesel engine. I think that it is highly unlikely that the A8 will get a reworked version of the R10's actual diesel engine. There is almost no way that a racing engine can be adopted into a modern car. For the same reason we don't see Renault's powered by 20,000 RPM screaming engines. However, it is very likely that Audi will use R10 engine principles to make a V12 TDI. I expect the V12 to be larger, maybe 6.3 liters. Now it looks like a V12 TDI engine is very likely.
