Audi Announces Pricing for the All-New A5 Coupe
January 30, 2008 11:00 AM - Audi Canada has announced retail pricing for its all-new 2008 A5 coupe starting at $51,850.

The A5 Coupe will be available in Audi retailer’s showrooms at the end of the first quarter of 2008.

“Audi has a Grand Touring coupe once more,” said Diego Ramos, Executive Vice President of Auto Canada. “The 2008 A5 mirrors the DNA of the Audi brand in a beautiful manner. It is ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ with a luxurious ambience that makes every kilometre driven a delight.”

The new A5 successfully unites Audi’s highly acclaimed design language, acknowledged dynamic driving characteristics and refinement with the brand’s traditional quality and sophistication in an all-new two-door coupe.

Progressive styling gives the A5 coupe an appearance that is both elegant and dynamic.

With its muscular 3.2-Litre, 265 hp six-cylinder FSI engine, its newly developed high-precision running gear and a raft of innovative, luxury amenities, the Audi A5 has been crafted to be a modern grand tourer - a sports coupe in the finest tradition.

Reflecting Audi’s ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ philosophy, the all-new 2008 Audi A5 is characterized by a comprehensive array of high-tech standard equipment. The inclusive standard amenities list contains such items as 18-inch quattro GmbH five-arm alloy wheels, automatic three-zone climate control, the MMI information and operating system, the Audi sound system with ten speakers, a six-disc CD changer and separate screen, memory system for the driver’s seat and mirrors, heated front seats, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, bi-xenon headlights with auto-levelling and an LED strip of daytime running lights, a large power tilting sunroof, and an automatically opening trunk lid.

The new comfort key and the electromechanical parking brake are also among the items included in the standard equipment package.

The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the all-new 2008 Audi A5 Coupe starts at $51,850 for the all-wheel drive, six-speed manual version, which will be in Audi retailer showrooms in March, and $53,350 for the A5 featuring a six-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, which will be available shortly thereafter. Optional equipment and other pricing information for the all-new A5 Coupe will be available closer to the launch date.

“Audi has a Grand Touring coupe once more,”

doesn't once more mean "again"?

$51k? Ouch...At least the new A4 shares the styling cues, because I'm really liking this new design, but I'm not about to pay +50k for Audi's V6.

Are you listening Audi?? You need a fast car that doesnt cost $70k!!

What only 265hp in that V-6? Not enough car for the money.

Exactly, its $52,000 base there, and will probably be $42,000 base here.

Its a beautiful car, but I feel that V6 is WAY TOO underpowered compared against the other sport coupes (335i, G37) that cost about the same.

Audi cannot release a new V6/turbo V6 soon enough!!

In my eyes, just spring for the S5. Its the only one worth getting in my opinion.

Nice but a 335i and a 328i are strong competition, and Infiniti g37

Please read closely; this is in Canadian Dollars, so it will be much cheaper in USD. Probably around $42,000 - $44,000.

Only S5 looks good to me. A5 is just too empty design. Looks like it's lacking some line...etc.

anyway 335i and G37 are much better than the A5 and costs less too = No chance for A5.

Am I missing something? How is the S5 so different from the A5?

AGAIN, WE CANADIANS ARE GETTING SCREWED. THE SAD THING IS OUR GOVERNMENT ALLOWING THE AUTO MANUFACTURERS (AND THIS INCLUDES EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM) TO TREAT US LIKE CRAP.

OUR CURRENCY IS BASICALLY ON PAR. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE. IT DOES NOT COST 12 000 MORE TO GET THE CAR TO CALGARY INSTEAD OF SPOKANE. IN FACT A GERMAN CAR SHOULD BE CHEAPER FREIGHT TO CALGARY THAN WASHINGTON. IT DOES NOT COST MORE TO WINTERIZE THE VEHICLES FOR MINNESOTA WINTERS WHICH ARE WORSE THAN CALGARY WINTERS SO THIS IS ALSO A LAME DUCK ARGUMENT.

I'M PURCHASING MY NEXT CAR IN THE U.S NO MATTER WHAT THE HASSLE OR EXTRA DEALER FEES. I DON'T EVEN CARE IF I DON'T GET WARANTEE. I JUST WANT TO SCREW THEM LIKE THEY ARE GIVING IT TO US.

RJVANRO.... IN CALGARY
