The head of Volkswagen's premium unit, Audi unit confirmed on Tuesday it planned to increase sales and profit this year.



Audi Chief Executive Rupert Stadler added at the Frankfurt International Motor Show that he expected the company to achieve its goal to raise unit sales to 950,000 this year from 905,000 last year.

First-half net profit at Audi rose 67 percent to 679 million euors, helped by sales of its new Q7 offroader and its second-generation TT sports coupe.
