and Audi was down
they punched their way to the numbers they had

Audi Germany has decided to only sell cars in the US that makes them money

they are only selling Q7's and A4's

They have pulled back the A6 and A8 and A3

Homer,

Please explain to the un-initiated what 'punching' the numbers means...I think they will be surprised but enlightened that not only Audi does that but so does everyone else...the numbers don't always tell the truth, do they? ;)

I wouldn't exactly call that domination. I know everyone loves seeing big percentages, and 11.3% seems huge, but 11.3% up over last year is roughly 5364 vehicles. BMW and their 7.4% growth is up 12k vehicles from last year. Now my math might be wrong but if Audi keeps adding 11k vehicles a year and BMW keeps adding 24k, how exactly is Audi catching up? Wouldn't that actually be falling further behind?

All of Audi's increases are the Q and TT. Their sedans are, month after month, losing ground. Hey, I love Audis, but really they gotta get their act together. I have noticed afew more A4 cabs around LA, people are starting to view it as a reasonable alternative to a 3 series convertible. It's about time.

The A4 and A8 are both pretty old, and the A6 is just unimpressive- I can see that. The A4 will be replaced by the end of the year, you know that, and as beautiful as the A8 is, it's never been popular.

A6... the only one I like is the S6, but the 3.2 still sells.

Oh- I agree that it is absolutely pathetic to sell less than 1,000 A6/S6s. They really need to get their act together in the U.S, but overall, it just doesn't seem to matter that much to them, because they're doing so well in Europe and Asia.

Audi is focused on profits. They aren't offering subsidies - at least not anywhere as generous as BMW - on their cars outside of... the TT and the Q7.

I know, I just ordered a 5 series instead of an Audi. Otherwise, the financials didn't make any sense.

BTW, did you notice the impact on BMW profits - that and the USD.

s4 the A6 is about 5k to much for the US market

and there are almost 0 2007s left and the 2008 is not out yet

A8 sells 201 cars.- Mercedes S class sells 2500. adding the Q7 and A3 has had no impact on the USA market. Just 100 cars more than last year.
