Audi Mileage Marathon Update: Where In The World Is Agent001 Now?

Where in the world is Waldo err.. Agent001?  You might remember  a quick blurb earlier in the week where we told you he was participating in the Audi Mileage Marathon showcasing the latest diesel technology from Audi.  

Driving a variety of models all with the latest in diesel technology the 24 teams have trekked across the US all averaging quite remarkable economy figures.  If you think diesels aren't the  way to go, then you might want to reconsider, the massive Q7 SUV is averaging over 30 mpg with a  combined mileage tally of over 2,000 miles. That alone is an impressive figure for any 5,000+ lb vehicle.




001 joined the marathon during 3rd leg of the adventure and was teamed up with Autoblog's Sebastian Blanco as they drove across the southwestern US in a 2 liter A3 TDI.   After a rough first day of the leg, our crew had placed as high as third. However, by the end of the leg the dynamic duo had distanced themselves from the competition and placed first for the leg with an impressive 43.7 MPG for combined driving.








Leg number four starts today and currently 001 is in a 3 liter Q7 TDI where he is off to Vegas then Yosemite, Mammoth Lakes, Monterey, and finally the Santa Monica finish line. It will be pretty interesting to see how he fares against the competition in the massive Q7.
