Audi Q5 and Q7 variants delayed until 2009
Americans won’t get to see the upcoming Q5 crossover in showrooms until 2009 at the earliest because of a decision by management to delay its arrival so the new crossover can be labeled a 2010 model. The same approach will be used for new hybrid and diesel variants of the larger Q7 SUV, which, along with the new Q5, were meant to go on sale in the third quarter of next year.

Well, that means I'm abandoning Audi again as my current A6 Quattro lease expires in May 2008 and my wife wants a small SUV. It's Tribeca for me now.

There are many better cars than the Tribeca...like dannyboy says, what about the X3/Murano/Acura whatever it is/RX/Rav 4/CR-V/LR2?
I would say that most of those are better choices than the Tribeca, which is just ugly.

audi is missing the smaller suv and a price point of the 499 to 599 lease that the old A6 moved out of
so many times people are looking at the Q7 and want a smaller suv or want to pay 500 a month
on the other hand people that are looking for a car and find the A4 to small might switch to the Q5 but the Q7 is to big of a jump and the A6 is to much $$$ for a good chunk of customers
enn is a good example

Rupert, I agree that there are better choices out there including my personal choice, the Q7, but my wife finds the Q7 too big and the Tribeca just happens to have a good engine and AWD system. The engine is a horizontally opposed 6 ( a.k.a. flat 6) which is inherently in balance. The AWD sytem uses a planetary type center differential. Also, none of the smaller SUVs like the Tribeca have seat height adjustment for the front passenger but it is not an issue for me because the Tribeca front passenger seat just happens to be at the right height for ease of entry without banging my head on the roof. The middle Tribeca model in Canada is very nicely equipped with leather and a fancy sound system.

dannyboy2, I don't want the Murano because it has the dreaded CVT.

The Tribeca is extremely boring- don't get it. The Mazda CX-7 is a better choice.
Anyway, why do they need it to be a "2010 model?" Who cares?!?

We don't even get this "2010" model stuff in Britain, or most of Europe I think.
Britain we get number plates based on age, twice a year, hence nobody launches cars in august or february (as a new plate comes out in march and september).
I couldn't care less if it came out in march or september 2009.

Boring is not a deterrent for me. The Tribeca is very comfortable and rides like a car but has the utility of an SUV.
