Audi Q7 already off to a fast start?
The new Audi Q7 is proving to be a big seller. Although it was only launched at the start of March, more than 16,000 customer orders have already been received. The Q7 will have been launched in most European markets by the end of March, followed by the USA and China in June and all other markets in the second half of the year.

"The production lines are humming," says Dr. Jochem Heizmann, Audi Board Member for Production. The plan is to step up production from the current 200 units a day to 300 by the early summer. Heizmann: "We will pull out all the stops in order to meet our customers’ expectations. Organisational measures already introduced - such as production throughout the holiday period or in three shifts - will enable us to reach this goal." In the future, the annual production figure in a full year will be between 50,000 and 70,000 vehicles.

It is quite bloated at 5269 pounds (mfr. est.). With the premium package it tips the scales at 5467 (mfr. est.). Styling isn't too bad but it isn't ringing my bell. Of course the ever present outstanding Audi interior. Third row seating will be a plus for some.

All in all. It's just "eh" in my opinion. Apparently 16,000 people disagree with me. I give Audi props for lining 'em up.

I thought this thing looked like a hearse and would not be successful, just shows how little I know about European buyers. In fairness the Q7 looks almost decent in black - at least much better than in the lighter colors like silver.

you should all see it in person. I have driven them in the Canary Islands and this thing is all that. Pictures don't do it justice. I work for an Audi dealer and we just had our grand opening and we got 4 orders that night for Q7's. I'm telling you she speakes to your soul in person!

I've only seen the Q7 in pictures and from what I've read. I'm curious to see it in person. Maybe this would change my tune a little.
