Audi R8 V10 and convertible will come in limited numbers
So you’re just going to wait until the other variants of the Audi R8 come out since it’s hard to get your hands on one right now. Well, it doesn’t seem like things are going to get any better. According to Michael Dick, Audi’s member of the board of management for technical development, U.S. customers fight over roughly 50 units that arrive each month.

There just aren’t a lot of them available. Dick says that when the V10 powered R8 arrives in the second half of 2009 Audi will only make...

US customers might fight for their R8's but when dealers try and rip off customers by their "market price" adjustments it makes me sick. My rip off dealer has a new red R8 waiting for some mug to pay way over list sat on their lot for at least the last 2 weeks. Braman are asking $189,000 for the car, looks like nobody is falling over themselves to take it off their hands.

steve27t - so if the market is 189k the dealer is ripping you off but if the market drops to 20 k below sticker the customer is not ripping off the dealer?

The market determans the price from you house to your car. I would love to have the perfect amount of cars so everything is MSRP. The fact is no cars are MSRP. They are below or above and if the market is there the car will sell for it.

There are a few dealers that will mark up there car and keep it for 3 months to find the higest price. We try and sell our R8s in less then 3 weeks.

I'm someone who was in the market for this type of vehicle. In Australia it is marked up massively at $300,000 (this was 2 months ago, when Australian dollar was almost the same as the US dollar). Anyway, the reason why I liked the R8 over a used Gallardo is for a few reasons:

- Has the latest luxuries (MP3, SatNav)
- Makes more sense as a daily driver
- Is new vs used
- Warranty vs a 3yr old Gallardo (lambo repair bills scare me)

Anyway having said that after the test drive I was kinda disappointed with the R8 for several reasons - didn't feel that fast, engine whirring/intake noise behind your head didn't sound good, gearbox gate makes clacking noise, interior didn't look/feel like $300,000, would have to be very careful when I parked it. Still, the car looks amazing in person, better than the Lambo IMO. I'll revisit when the V10 version comes out, or if the price drops closer to 250k.

I have the V8 model and with the premium that I had to pay for it i still wouldn't trade it for an F430 or Gallardo "USED". It's far more rare than the Ferrari's or Lamborghini's especially in my city. If you've ever been to Vancouver you will know what I mean.

Anyways this V10 I envy. However my V8 isn't a slouch and I can't wait to take it on a track next spring (since Vancouver has very gloomy days since it rains so often).

However, don't for one second think I don't like the Gallardo of F430, they are awesome cars, styling, sound, & performance.

Don't worry the R8 with V10 is expected to set a new Nurburgring lap record.

watch out for the lexus lf-a that's the ultra luxury super car that will be in the league of 612 scaglietti and murcielago's. no audi, benz, or bimmer can contest.

Take a look at the link. Audi promises a new Nurburgring lap record with the V10 R8.

Considering the HP is up 100 and the torque is up too. This car should be something very special.
