Audi R8 V10 to get 530 horsepower
According to Edmunds, in 2008 the Audi R8 will receive a twin-turbo V10 engine courtesy of the newly released Audi RS6. This unit should feature a sizzling 530 horsepower or 110 horsepower more than the current 4.2 liter V8 model.

For those that were waiting for a more powerful version of the R8, or believed the car wasn't nearly as fast as it looks made it out to be, this is your answer.

Additional upgrades will include larger and more powerful brakes, a revised suspension and some minor cosmetic tweaks to set it apart from the V8 R8.

With 0-60 mph recorded in 3.9 seconds by Motortrend magazine and 1st place in Autocar's Best Driver's Cars of 2007 as well as a countless number of amazing reviews by other acclaimed magazines and publications this car will be a screamer.

If these horsepower figures are correct the Audi R8 with V10 will have true supercar performance with 0-60 mph coming in likely the 3.5-3.7 second range.

Attention Porsche: The 911 Turbo will be feeling even more heat courtesy of Ingolstadt.

Why 530 when it's 580 in the RS6? Seems odd.

Don't worry Porsche. There is always the GT2.

The R8 will have the same 5.0 TFSI engine as in the RS6, but with 530-ish horsepower. 6-speed manual and R-tronic?

With 0-60 mph already coming in 3.9 seconds with a 420 horsepower 4.2 liter V8 just think what Audi will conjure up for acceleration times with a 530 horsepower 5.0 liter twin-turbo V10!

Porsche 911 Turbo: You officially have company in the acceleration sweepstakes and another car with true supercar performance wrapped in a package that can be used every single day.

Yeah, the 420hp is just "fast enough." LOL it can only overtake 99.9999% of the other cars on the road, with the exception of those common Bugatti Veyrons and Pagani Zondas.
