Audi has not been shy about challenging the competition in the last 12 months with their very aggressive advertising and web videos intended to bolster the Audi brand image.

Whether taking a scene from the Godfather and adapting it for Audi, or the Meet The Beckers series of videos that were in your face, and perhaps borderline offensive at times, it is obvious Audi WANTS to get your attention.

Of course, that is what advertising is meant to do, get your attention.  In the preview for their newest spot, scheduled to debut during Super Bowl 43, Audi appears to again be taking swipes at the competition as a means to position their cars in the marketplace.

The question that begs to be asked and answered is, Is this form of advertising effective, and more importantly does it make you want to go and look at and possible buy an Audi?

Knowing that not everyone in the market for an Audi is looking at either the R8 used in last years ad or the current S5 as shown in this years ad, does the "halo" created by both of these cars help to bolster the image of the rest of the Audi lineup.

Audi is betting big on their advertising campaign, I for one find it amusing and entertaining.  Of course you aren't here to know what I think, so why not check in and tell us if you think Audi is correct in marketing their products in the manner they have chosen.
