VR6 was a 3.2L V6 developing 250hp
This is a TT 2.5L 5 cyl developing 340+ hp

This Quattro is a rear biased system similar to that found on the new S4 and RS6 which every auto reviewer had nothing but praise for.

So again. what are you trying to say ??

FYI the TT-RS ia aimed at people who do not like the Porsche Boxter S or Gayman S and i guarantee the TT-RS will beat the Porsche in the straight or Twisties and it is comparably priced and with a better interior.

@ I95SPEEDINGTICKETS, your delusional. Audi has made one notable sports car the R8. Every RS car needs at least 50+ hp to keep up with or be slightly quicker then its M or Porsche rival. The RS6 needs 70 more hp and 100 lb-ft of torque, along with AWD to be slightly quicker then the M5. Look what happened when they both had cars with the same hp on the market at the same time, the e92 m3, and the RS4, yes the RS4 was older but the technology in the cars are the exact same, so there are really no excuses. The M3 on top gear was 4 seconds a lap faster(the M3 is actually almost as fast as the R8, but seats 4). BMW M continues to do more with less, true car/driving enthusiasts know this, and this is why BMW M is still the king. The only way RS will prove its better if it brings a car to the market that has the same hp as an M and is faster, but this wont happen the RS5 will most likely have 40-50 more hp then the E92, more torque, and may be quicker,but it should be when it has all that extra power. BMW M still engineer superior cars, and engines.

Before I start, a correction is needed. Real TT-RS price, according to audi.de, is 55.800 EUR.

So we have:

BMW M3 coupe: 68.000 EUR (midsize coupe, RWD, V8, 420HP, manual)
Audi TT-RS: 55.800 EUR (compact coupe, FWD+Haldex, R5, 350HP, manual)
VW Golf V R32: 35.000 EUR (compact hatch, FWD+Haldex, VR6, 250HP, DSG)

Golf is presented since it's the car TT is based on.

While the price-value ratio is a bit less horrid now, it's still awful in my opinion for this Hairdresser's special.

As far as I remember, TT-RS has single turbo, not twin turbo. Yes, this engine is much more intensively factory tuned. But you still can get 300HP+ from 3.2 VR6 with cheap chipping. And with added turbo? Well, maniacs get 500+ HP from this 6 banger.

S4 and RS6 have permanent TorSen differential based all wheel drive with 40% - 60% torque split ratio. The system works all the time and reacts on grip availability changes before skidding occurs.

TT always was a front wheel drive car with a Haldex clutch to send the power to the rear in case of skidding. A completely different and in fact inferior setup when compared to the true quattro. How have they improved it in TT-RS remains to be seen but it's very unlikely they left their basic recipe due to technical reasons (transverse engine).

Does any one here actually do research before they post? I keep reading about how the TT is basically a rabbit/golf. The TT has its own aluminum space frame. I really do not think that the golf / rabbit has this. Also the TTS and TTRS have the same magnetic ride suspension as the R8. The funny thing is that this is also the same technology as the Enzo Ferrari. Which is actually made by Delphi / GM. The TT has more in common with the R8 than any other car in the family. It even shares most of its electronics, seats and steering wheel with the R8 and the Gallardo. Just because you dream it does'nt mean it's true.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were supposed to assume everything posted on here was wrong and "research" everything. Isn't that the job of the person who posted in the first place? I'm not interested in being a copy editor, if you are more power to you.

By the way, I notice you said "the European prices will be PROBABLY equal to the UK prices"... That's an important word there, "probably". It means you can't and don't know that to be true. And despite your own lack of 100% confidence, you're ripping on us for not researching something that doesn't exist? if the research was so simple, why don't you know 100% that the prices WILL be the same? Guess you better get in line with the rest of us lemmings, eh?

I don't know if the European price will be the exact same thing but it sure as hell won't be doubled. With that UK price I would expect this to be in the 50K Euro range.

No way on earth will they price this over 70K Euro if it sells for that much in the UK.
