Audi TT with R8 body kit for sale on eBay
We’re not sure if this is the Niche body kit that gives the new Audi TT the look and the feel of an R8, but an Audi TT dressed up like the R8 has popped up on eBay Motors for those interested in mimicking.

While we’re not too sure of the seller’s claim of “Everyone stops to ask if it is a R8. A real head turner,” if you’re not willing to spend $110,000 on an Audi R8, than this $45,000 2008 Audi TT 3.2 that looks like one, may help you sleep at night.

Just remember a brand new 3.2 Audi TT starts at $41,500.

But the front does look different from the R8. Good modification to the standard item though

oh I get it: if it's not Japanese no one here screams "rice!" or "poser!".

If someone tried to make an LF-A out of an IS, or a GT-R out of a 350Z, there would be well over 100 comments here by now...

That's a very fair point.

I agree so I'll say it...poser!

I think the unmodified TT looks great. Why screw it up by trying to make it into something it's not?

The TT looks good from the front with that kit but seeing it’s profile is embarrassing. JUST DON'T DO IT. You will be the butt of many jokes.

Bulldogz, it's not about japanese or rice. Why would anyone want to male a 4 door sedan IS look like and extreme sports car LF, it will look silly. It's just like saying you want to make your Audi A4 look like the Audi R8!!! This TT looks good with the kit period. I bet you if someone came up with a kit that made the 350z look like a GT-R (if it looks good) people will say it looks good.
This issue about Japanese and Germans has to stop once you understand both parties. This is the rule-of-thumb, when a staid (normal/bland/boring) company makes a performance car, they have to make it look riced out because their normal customer will think it's the same type of car (for example Lexus(normal) to IS-F (perfomance). When a performance company makes a hyper-performance car they do not need to rice it up to prove to their customers instead they tone it down. For example BMW (performance) to M5 (hyper performance)

One example of a performance company from japan that tones it down is Mazda or Acura. You will be hard pressed to know the difference (except you are a car buff) between the Mazda3 and the MazdaSpeed3.

Hopefully you all know the difference. It's not a japanese or German thing, it's a marketing issue.

The general rule of thumb is that your high(er)-performance-oriented vehicles need to look like they are of higher performance on the outside. All M's, AMG's and RS's look more exaggerated than their normal counterparts. I buy the AMG package for every Mercedes I get because I like the exaggerated look of the AMG model over the normal model. The whole point of all these performance subdivisions is to capture a different target audience than those buying the normal models.

I agree with you Antony, but exaggerated look is different from riced out. Think of Mitsubishi Lancer and the the Evo....there's a big difference. Then think of the new C350 sports and then the C63 AMG. Believe me, 80% of the people that see them will think they are Identical. For me there is a big difference but most regular folks will not notice the difference until they see the dual pipes behind. The same goes for the SLK or Z4 or SL or M6 or S5 etc or even TL-typeS. That's what I was talking about as per rule of thumb.

looks nice and clean but the tt isn't an R8 so it shouldn't look like one

shameful. They should have tried to get it to resemble a hotter car. The R8 is a bit of a pig compared to the competition.

yeah right...even i (a lexus fan) will agree that the audi design team is very good, especially with the new (not the prev. gen.) TT, R8, and Q7.

new TT don't need this body kit, it already look awesome. Spend that money in other place.

I like it, but I think its unique look will wear thin rather quickly...unless the buyer is in Cali.

...Naw, I take that back. If it ends up in Cali, the new owner will just be another profiling victim of the police.

I laughed the first time I saw the picture, I think its histerical. It reminds me of the Pontiac Fiero with the Ferrari add on kit.
