Audi will be celebrating its 100th year birthday this year and to commemorate the affair the automaker has prepared more than 50 events to be held around the world.

Especially significant are July 16 2009 when the company will turn exactly 100 years old, Audi will host a memorial service in Ingolstadt, Germany, the company’s hometown, and then on August 21 it will participate in a recreation of the momentous Grand Prix in Berne, Switzerland. The July 16 schedule is particularly interesting since the carmaker has announced that it will be removing the wraps off of a brand new model right in front of those present at the event, which will consist of Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany. No other details have unfortunately been released. Also happening in July is a special appearance of Audi as the ‘featured marquee’ of the English Good Wood Festival of Speed.
