Audi wins Le Mans Series
After the triumph at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the early title win in the American Le Mans Series, AUDI AG performed another feat with the Audi R10 TDI diesel sportscar: At the 1000-kilometre race at Silverstone (Great Britain), Audi Sport Team Joest – clinching victory as well as fourth place – secured also the champion’s title in the European Le Mans Series (LMS).
In front of a record turnout of 53,000 spectators (throughout the weekend) Dindo Capello (Italy) and Allan McNish (Scotland) at the season’s finalé scored the first victory of the Audi R10 TDI, which is powered by over 650 hp, in the Le Mans Series. For Alexandre Prémat (France) and Mike Rockenfeller (Germany) a fourth place at Silverstone was sufficient to win the drivers’ title in the LM P1 class. The LMS manufacturers’ and team titles went to Audi as well.

Exactly, manufacturer + drivers championship is the entire point of racing and Audi got that in LMS and in the ALMS. And they won 24 hours of Le Mans. That makes a hat trick in endurance racing.

I don't feel really comfortable with the fact that this car advertises the good in fuel economy...
BUT...I do like how it shows the POWWWEERRR and efficiency of a diesel simultaneously.

Dear amazinBuffoon,
Audi has won the 24 hours of Le Mans in eight of the last nine years. (A Bentley powered by an Audi engine won in 2003.)
Pray tell us, amazinBlowhard, how many times Audi will have to win at LeMans before you finally acknowledge this company's technical prowess?

ALMS officials have made P2 cars competative with P1 cars through rule modification. P2s will run real rules next year.

ALMS had to that because Audi had run off all of the competition in P1. The solution was to pit both classes against each other. I actually think is works pretty good.

Amazinglammer... here are facts for you (if you don't know what a fact is... then you should start with a Kidergarten level vocabulary textbook)

This is not a surprise to anyone here including you, although you choose to live in hypocracy. Try delivering pizzas so you can keep up with your BMW payment...LOL
To all other Audi fans here... way to go Audi!
The R8 has been Sports Car of the Year, the Audi 2.0 T engine was chosen for the F2 series and the 4.2 FSI V8 for several supersportcar builders. Audi is on a roll!!
I hope Porsche will not derail progress. I also can't wait to hear Audi critics relating Audi to VW now that Porsche is the Owner.

Does this mean now that Porsche owns Audiwagon they automatically inherit all of Porsche's racing history!? And Audi's bonding link to VW is suddenly resolved!? OF COURSE NOT.I just hope you don't think that.
the only thing they will share is a bank account, suv chassis and, select technologies(mostly hybrid or green tech).
