AutoSpies.com Get First Exclusive 2008 TransSyberian Rally Photos In Moscow
“All I wanted was a mission.

And for my sins, they gave it to me.

Brought it up to me like room service.”

Martin Sheen-Apocalypse Now

As AutoSpies.com agents, we are always looking for missions.

Well, this one didn’t exactly get delivered up to me like room service but it was given to me at a hotel.

Porsche invited us a few weeks ago to the Barber racetrack in Alabama for an event.

During the press presentation they mentioned that the TransSyberian rally was coming up shortly and that they would have some really unique content available for websites like AutoSpies.com.

After the presentation was over, I mentioned to the PR gurus at Porsche that we did a bang up job for Mercedes-Benz, covering the 2006 Paris to Beijing rally.

So good, our traffic outstripped the actual official dedicated Mercedes website for the 2006 Paris to Beijing Rally.

Wow, 2006!

Was it really long ago that we covered that?

The epiphany the PR execs at Mercedes experienced by seeing the power of AutoSpies.com, ended up being a big win for us and a defining moment, for the internet auto press.

Because it was living proof that websites like ours, Jalopnik and AutoBlog, were the new leaders of influence in automotive news.

Not the buff books, like C&D, MT, etc., as they are called.

We all cover it differently, but we all do a good job and make life better for automotive prosumer’s, enthusiast’s and general internet geeks who fancy cars.

Back to the story of how this all came about…

So the next I knew, I got a call in my hotel room and the Porsche voice at the other end asked me, if I was up for another amazing mission.

They invited us to be the exclusive website to cover the start of this year’s 2008 TransSyberian Rally in Moscow and then the finish at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia for Porsche Cars of North America.

How could I refuse a mission like that?

So I made the sacrifice to fly in business class (yes, the Spies always ride up front), on Lufthansa, to make my way to the starting line in Red Square via Frankfurt.

Of course, it’s guaranteed if you follow along for the the race and the finish, not only will you see some of the most amazing AutoSpies.com style photos and unique video, you will have an opportunity to see this experience of lifetime, as if you were there yourself.

Yes, it will be a virtual experience for you, but you can be sure the Spies will make the digital ride virtually unequaled.

Get ready boys and girls, Agent 001 is ON the job and this is going to be an exciting few weeks!

Enjoy this AutoSpies.com exclusive!

The fun starts NOW!

Keep checking back often for daily updates…

Nice gallery. I'd love to do a rally like that. Those Russian broads look good.

Who took the pics of the broad's thong and crack while she was shopping? Not complaining at all - i like the pic, but the photographer of a shot like that is a scumbag.

Overall, i like.

On my video from russia from 1992 were only Ladas , Volgas , Moskvitches and other russian cars and in shops were lots of lipsticks , now I see there is a "little" different - lots of cars that russian steal in EU and sell in their country , shops like in EU .

In my country ( I live in europe ) when someone dicover it`s car disappered ( was stolen ) than it`s very probably that it is going to east , this is well known fact here , maybe peoples in US don`t know this . But now I must say not as many as in the past stolen cars go to russia .

Great pictures. Though one suggestion, it'd be way nicer if the pictures were a bit organised instead of dumping all the pictures (good and bad) in one place.
