Autozeitung: Audi R8 defeats Porsche 911 Carerra 4S and AM V8 Vantage
Autozeitung did a comparison test of these three cars. The Audi R8 won yet again. The Audi R8 has garnered exceptional praise from Autocar by winning its Best Driver's Car of 2007 award, Autozeitung, Car and Driver, Motortrend and a host of other acclaimed magazines and publications.
I can't read German but the R8 clearly was the winner.
With a reported 530 horsepower twin-turbo V10 in the works it appears that Audi is going to have a very fast car in the near future. With 0-60 mph already recorded in 3.9 seconds by Motortrend magazine for the 4.2 liter 420 horsepower V8, the 5.2 liter twin-turbo V10 pushing out 530 horsepower is sure to be a rocket.
Congratulations Audi on yet another amazing victory for the R8 over the Porsche 911

Audi has really got a home run with the R8. In addition their latest offerings from the RS division are spectacularly good as well. Audi performance is finally catching up to BMW M/Porsche levels! Good too see such progress in performance from a company normally known for its design and interior quality.
It seems that Audi is quickly becoming the best all rounder in its class. Ineterior wise, they were always class leasing, looks wise, they are rapidly improving now that Walter da Silva (ex-Alfa Romeo designer) is now heading up design at Audi (see the S5!). Comfort had previously lagged behind Mercedes and performance had previously lagged behind BMW. Well with the R8 and the RS4 performance is easily on par (M3/RS4) or higher than anything BMW offers (R8,)even outclassing Porsche the benchmark sportscar maker at their own game!
If the progress in Audi Performance is anything to go by the new RS6 will be a monster of a car. If they can imbue it with handling as well as they have done with the RS4, the RS6 will undoubdtedly become the new king of the hill eclipsing the M5 and the E63. In a recent Motor Trend comparison, the results 1) E63, 2) S6 3) M5 showed that even with only 435hp compared to BMW's 507hp the S6 was capable of holding its own. The car was clearly easier to drive on the limit than the M5 and the only reason it lost to the E63 was because it lacked power in this class. Well with the RS6 packing 60+hp over the E63 nearly 480lbs of torque and most importantly Quattro AWD to actually transfer all that power to the pavement, looks like Audi RS division has the top spot all wrapped up!

In fact, the S6 has beaten both the E63 AMG and M5 in two other comparison tests! It has never come in third. I find that amazing- it must drive exceptionally well to make up for the relative "lack" of power.

As well as in one other mag... I remember the E63 AMG and M5 being silver, and the S6 being red (in the second comparison test which it won). I just can't remember which magazine it was. Look it up.

I can read German....congrats to Audi for the "over-all" win as determined by Auto Zeitung and congratulations to Porsche. Rest assured, the Porsche is still a drivers car as made evident by its winning in the Motor/Transmission category of the test.

This is currently my favorite vehicle. The only reason I wouldn't get one is the lack of rear seats. I still love the Porsche and would definitely buy one, but even then the seats are laughable. I may have to "settle" with the RS5 Cabriolet, if that ever comes out. The S5 Cabriolet just wouldn't be much of a departure from the car I have now, but an RS5 would be fabulous.

Dayday,
See article below from Motor trend. HP isn't everything. The BMW had 65 more horses and the Benz had over 70 more. With better handling, and braking, the S6 ate up the corners and was first on a short track followed by the BMW and then Benz. On the longer track the straights gave the M5 a half car length advantage over the S6. The Benz was 3rd. The S6 won the comparison as the best and most complete car.

What's even more interesting is the virtual simulation which clearly shows how Audi's handling in corners gives it an edge. Download from the site and enjoy! Motor trend did a great job setting this up

I would take the Aston Martin V8 Vantage over the other two on look alone.

That's a stupid way to judge a car. I think the R8 is one of very few cars that makes the V8 Vantage look ordinary. There's something that the DB9 has that the Vantage doesn't- and I see a V8 Vantage in town all the time, it just doesn't blow me away. The R8 does.

Yes the Audi R8 really blow my mind away when it got caught in flame ;) S4, you have your opinion and I have mind so let just keep it like that.
The Audi R8 as good as it is, it still an Audi, and please don't compare an Audi with the Aston Martin. I know you are freaking lying you said you see them all the time. I live here in OC close to Newport, CA and I don't even see many of them. I see alots of Lambo Gallardo/Spider, Bentley, Ferrari F430, DB9, RR's Phantom, but only see the V8 Vantage once.
Anyway, where is your friend agent63? did he got bann?
