Nothing more than clever suspension tuning and calibration on cheap MacPherson strut components, firm spring rates and over boosted steering.

"Magic Feel" = gimmick

BMW runflats = gimmick

A cost saving feature so that BMW can shave $50 from every vehicle, at the same time leaving customers to "enjoy" the bone jarring ride and to cover the expense of replacing non-repairable tires.

"Leatherette" = gimmick

More cost shaving tactics so they don't have to use "real" leather

BMW Free Maintenance = gimmick

A ploy to deceive customers the true cost of BMW ownership, includes measly 2 oil changes and 1 schedule service that's ALREADY included in the MSRP.

X6 = gimmick

a cramped 5000lb $100k "pseudo" SUV with the ground clearance of a sedan, rear visibility of a Lamborghini, compromised seating and cargo space of a coupe and mpg of a "real" SUV.

760hl hybrid = gimmick

"Green" without in any way being green with only 15% savings in fuel using 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8.

iDrive = gimmick

Don't have the tech know-how to do touch screen interface, so they'll have you scroll endlessly to make selections resulting in user fatigue.

They prevent blow-outs, and save you, your family, and loved ones from being forced into compromising and dangerous situations such as being stuck in a bad part of town (by your house), or on a dark highway with little shoulder-room where you could easily be stuck by passers-by. This happens THOUSANDS of times per year. Run-flats give people the opportunity to get to a safer place while maintaining control, insuring a safe arrival.

Leatherette is a cost saving tactic so people can enjoy the Ultimate Driving Machine without breaking the bank. Anyone can purchase the Leather if they want it, Moron.

BMW Free Maintenance isn't built into the cost of the car. I know this may be difficult for you to understand, but calculate the inflation over the last 20 years, vs. the cost of BMWs 20 years ago, compare all the numbers. BMWs are more affordable now than they have ever been, with more technology, safety, and performance.

iDrive- Again proving your own ignorance. iDrive allows the user to navigate through loads of options while maintaining a proper driving position, not reaching up for a screen on the dash while careening down the road at 75 miles per hour. You also fail to understand that everything is adjustable via voice commands.

My guess is, however, it is not just your ignorance typing in your comments above, rather your pride and empty wallet. I will continue to drive my BMWs because they are the best performing, safest both actively and passively, most phenominal vehicles produced thus far by man-kind. I will tell everyone this I never thought I would say this but this model is actually growing on me now. I know its hard to beleive but you got to think of BMW's reputation of "GOING OUTSIDE THE BOX" and they definitely showed it on the 5-GT. They also did it on the bangle 6 and 7 series and people have those by the bundles now. I would say its only going to be a matter of time before this 5-gt takes flight also BMW based the car on one of their best selling models in the line up. Every soccer mom that makes (or husband makes) a household income of $130,000 or better a year they will have it.
