Dakar Yellow is one of those very special colors if you're a BMW fan of yore. Originally featured on the E36 M3 of the mid to late 1990s, it's a color that particularly warms my heart.
The problem is that with new generations, the color didn't live on. That is, unless you spec'd it through BMW Individual. :)
A BMW forum user "Powerbeast" must have done such a thing but that's not where it ended. They also decided to start a mod fest and add a new set of wheels and tires, added coilovers, bolted on an ESS VT2 600 supercharger and a touch of carbon fiber additions here and there.
Here's the kicker: "Powerbeast" also has a highly modified 1M in Dakar Yellow that's to die for as well.

This week we were lucky enough to be graced with the only factory Dakar Yellow E90 M3 (sedan) in the states.
The customer came to us asking for more power; Being the premier certified ESS dealer in California, we installed the VT2 600 supercharger kit from ESS. The kit is color matched to the paint which makes for one unique M3.
Future plans include Brembo Big Brake kit, HRE wheels, and an Akraprovic exhaust system.
