Most of the day today we were all gawking at the recent spy photos of the new BMW 135i Coupe that revealed the exterior sans camouflage. Well BMW UK went ahead and released the full specs of the UK version of the car. The big news is that they released the full specs on the 3.0L inline six-cylinder twin turbo engine in the 135i.

That is a very very quick ugly car! I reckon 0-60 in 4.6 seconds?

Nice looking, but the rearlights are not that nice, but overall it looks like a winner. I like the more rounded curves a new 2002 version or a bit of the old 3 series from the 70`s.

does this comes a LSD, or is that for the M version. ANd I think it will be more like 4.8 or 4.6, being that it is lighter than the 3 series....

You guys crack me up
4.6 or 4.8 for 0-60 times on a 1-series BMW that is not from BMs M Division ?
Such stupidity should be outlawed.
It will not happen, that would make it as fast as the current M5/M6 and if you think M5/M6 owners would stand for that then you are Silly
Also Standard 135 kit will not be enough for such performance figures so i guarantee it will not happen.
not even the M1 when it is made will reach 60mph in 4.6 secs.
Have any of you jokers ever been in a vehicle that can reach 60mph in sub 5 secs ?
That stuff is brutal, so please stop daydreaming, this is the real world.

6 years, nobody would've thought that a non-M division would produce a "budget" car that would have 306HP and hit 5.3 secs to 60. 306HP man!!! That's a whole lotta horsepower for a non-M car... do you remember what the M3 put out 6 years ago? Mmmmm.. yep.
Their published figures may say 5.3 seconds, but BMW's figurs have always been conservative. Just looking at the estimated weight of this car combined with the HP/torque numbers, and it is very likely this car can do 4.9 seconds or better.

What worries me about you guys is your ability to be so single track minded (You are unable to think laterraly).
The way a vehicle is geared greatly affects the o-60 times.
Tell you what. Im gonna save this page and in a few months when the 135 has been tested in real world conditions ill bring up this argument again and we will see ehh ?

With your reasoning the SLK 55 AMG should be faster than the SL 55 AMG and the CLK 63 AMG should trounce the CLS 63 AMG

no, that's not their reasoning. The SLK55 and SL55 don't have the same engine and didn't put out nearly the same amount of power -- the SL55 was supercharged and the SLK55 was naturally aspirated. If you took the same engine from the SL55 and shoehorned it into the SLK I'm sure it would be quicker than the SL. The CLK63 and CLS63 both have the same naturally aspirated engines but the CLK is detuned slightly.
In this case the 135i and 335i will carry the same exact engine in output and power delivery. The 135i will weigh less and still have a six speed manual or automatic, likely the same transmissions used in the 3-series, and with the same gearing. As such the 135i should be quicker than the 335i. The 335i has been clocked pretty much everywhere at 4.8 seconds 0-60. Those same sources are estimating 4.5 seconds for the 135i.

But the SLK55 has the same engine tuned differently, it produces 367hp, while the SL55's engine produces 476hp... same thing with the CLK63 which produces 475hp, and the CLS63 which produces 517hp.
But the 135i has the same setup as the 335i, so the estimates above are realistic.

Question: Would hoping for a four door 135xi be wishful thinking???

I dont think so. Its too small to be a four door. But AWD is not impossible.

I love this car but HATE the rear tail lights. I felt that way about the new 3 when it came out but I still bought one. I really like it now so maybe I will get used to the new 1's rear end.

There's more to handling than the slalom. When will you guys learn?
Honestly, if you feel that Lexus IS250/350 handles better than a 3-series, then you are delusional. Its not even questionable.
