Moving to expand production beyond the current Oxford, England plant, BMW has announced its Mini brand will have a model built in the Netherlands from summer 2014.

Contract manufacturer VDL Nedcar and Oxford will split between them the production of the Mini hatchback to expand capacity, while BMW confirmed the United Kingdom would remain the main base of production for the Mini brand.
