BMW considering alternate hybrid systems for M division
Prototypes of a new X6 model with a unique front bumper, featuring the aggressive styling of BMW’s M cars, were spotted testing at the Nurburging recently. Initially, these prototypes were thought to be running the same twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine as the standard xDrive50i models but with extra boost, however latest reports indicate that test vehicles could be featuring a advanced hybrid system designed under BMW’s F1 program.

do you just cut and paste the same comment every time you post? Doesn't that get boring? Because reading it sure does.

JRob, didn't you know that Staar(k raving lunatic) is suffering from synapse failure and is incapable of expressing any other comment - talk about not firing on all cylinders...
Anyway, it will be interesting to see how far BMW can push the envelope with this technology.

Good, now lets see what a proper bunch of engineers can do with this technology. We hopefully will get some great real world applications/innovations that can be applied to all vehicles regardless of price or size.

It's a good thing BMW is giving us the performance hybrid, now we can all finally claim that the Lexus GS450h copied it.
BMW: always follow.
You mean now we can see what a proper bunch of marketers can do, convincing sheep that the GS450h is actually a copy of this prototype. BMW stopped employing engineers about 10 years ago.

You mean all the engineers that continually put to shame the Toyota F1 team, the ones that have have put BMW just behind Ferrari in the constructors championship this year, those ones...
Whats the best year they have had 2005 with 4th position

It is funny how people don't read the article and started posting "opinions" after reading the title... sad.

mpwr,
And you suppose anybody who doesn't follow F1 to care?
Maybe if they put more F1 technology in their cars, BMW wouldn't have to offer 0% downpayment, 1% financing and more and more cheap economy models. People might actually want their cars without being given an incentive.
Again, BMW cars are designed by marketers, not engineers.

I really enjoy reading auto spies, except for the haters, whats wrong with you guys, why is it wrong to like one brand over another. I'm guessing some of the BMW or Lexus and mercedes haters have never owned or even driven these cars. I like most of you guys love cars, I respect any manufacture that spends time and money developing new models and technology. I'm a loyal to the brand I own, but would buy another brand if my economic situation changed for the better or the worst. Why not allow other readers to share their opinions without being bashed or ridiculed?
