BMW featured on Thailand’s Highest Billboard
Do you remember the amazing BMW billboard that was placed in Moscow? Well, it looks BMW Thailand is trying to keep up with the russians and they have put up their own BMW billboard.

To uplift brand image and build brand assurance among consumers, BMW Thailand embodied an attention-grabbing, bold, status-claiming “Torque of the Town” phenomenon on Thailand’s highest billboard. After all, if you start off byaiming high then hopefully your achievements will follow suit.

Thailand’s Baiyoke building, an 88-storey and 328-metre (1,076 ft) structure, is Thailand’s highest building and includes the highest hotel in Southeast Asia. This outstanding building occupies a prime strategic location in the heart of downtown Bangkok, therefore gaining huge exposure.

Occupying 2 sides of the Baiyoke Sky Hotel façade, one is promoting the launch of BMW diesel technology in Thailand, while the other side consolidating corporate identity with a general branding message.

This building is the most prime and prominent building wrap advertising in Thailand.

I wonder how much BMW paid for that advertising space.

Imagine if Lexus had done this...lots of people here would be calling it a tacky marketing ploy. But, it's BMW, so it will be "OK".

How can I be biased? I don't even really like Lexus, not my cup of tea. I admire Toyota for their efforts and success but I'm no fanboy. I'm merely pointing out the double standard that many other fanboys have here on autospies.

We know where your biases are.

I was in Bangkok in December and I sure didn't see a lot of BMW's driving around.. It was mostly a mass of these sketchy brightly colored "taxis" that were "open air" so they didn't need air conditioning.. And they sounded like those 92' modded Civics you hear driving around.

I was in Pattya (sp?)beach in Thailand a few years ago also. Damn, I wouldn't even dare to own a car overthere in the city area due to the traffic congestion but instead I'ld opt for a scooter. Yea, I may have seen a few BMW's but mostly open air taxies are mostly everywhere you go...I do miss the beaches overthere, Damn (topless beaches)!!!!!!

Ill stick to using a driver.. I wouldn't even drive a scooter out there after hearing about the deaths and injuries every year from them

"A brand to look up to"?
"Torque of the town"?
Ultimate Pun machine. Terrible. Time for a new ad agency. Though it's far more likely in cases like this that the BMW client killed several good ad concepts and twisted the ad agency's arm to produce this crap. In which case, it's time to fire somebody in the BMW marketing dept.

43LE the reason everyone will call lexus tacky if they did the same thing is because they ARE TACKY! When the quality isn't there what else does it have to offer? Want plush luxury? go for a MB or Audi! Need a fun to drive yet luxurious car go for BMW MB or even JAG (XF) If Jag's newest models are as good as the XF they will surpass lexus

This is nothing to talk about how bad a brand is... this is simply like a commercial taking the Taipei 101 as a very great example Sony Bravia once was lit on there as a commercial
