BMW-king of style?
When it comes to chic showrooms, BMW is the style king, says a new survey. In fact, German marques took the top three places.

A quarter of British motorists questioned named BMW as having the best-designed displays. Mercedes attracted 20 per cent of votes, while Audi came third with 11 per cent, according to dealership property specialist Gilbran.

Interesting. There's not many new BMW dealers in my area (they're kind of stark, actually), but the new Mercedes dealers are nice and the new Audi dealers are well-designed.

i think that this article is just another worthless ploy to stir up arguments on this site

i am a strong supporter of bmw, and i agree that their style is supreme, but there does not need to be an entire post on the "king of style"

furthermore, bmw is supposed to be about driving performance; style comes along with such as an ancillary of the world-class performance.

King of style as far as the showrooms go? Silly article.

I don't think the appeal of an Armani tuxedo resides in the shop from where it was purchased.

"Hey Frank, that new M6 of yours sure looks nice!"

Frank: "Yeah, but you should have seen the dealership!"

yup.

if the car debates aren't enough, we have to debate the style of the showrooms?

I'll bite though. BMW's showrooms in my area are definitly towards the bottom of the list. Ferrari showrooms are even worse.

Who cares?

I guess they realize that these cars sell themselves and as long as nobody is offended by the showroom, there's no reason to make it snappy.

Well you definitly know when your driving by a Bimmer dealership...Many Bimmer dealerships fly that BMW sign at least 4-5 stories high on the top of their building.

I was in Toronto not to long ago and was very impressed with the BMW dealership there...It looks like a huge showcase with a car in every window all the way to the top floor.

Audi dealers look like VW dealers, and Merecedes dealers are even less impressive than BMW & Audi. If anything Lexus should have come in second for their expensive looking showrooms.

Munich Rob,

Mercedes dealers are even more impressive than BMW dealers. Since you apparently live in Munich, I urge you to go to the Mercedes-Benz dealer in the Arnullftstrassse (spelling?). I was blown away by the size and interior layout of the building. I also visited the large MB dealer in Berlin. BMW has nothing on MB showrooms sadly.

No, not really. The BMW dealers in my area are pretty boring. The new Audi dealers are much better, and Mercedes is almost as good. I don't think you know what you're talking about. VW dealers aren't even close.

the audi dealer near me is very good, much better than the merc dealer, which rather funnily, is next to where audi are going to build their regional headquaters.

bmw have just opened a new dealer near me too, really close to the audi one. havent seen it yet though.

I live in Los Angeles and there is a dealer called Pacific BMW. Thats where I got my 2003 540i.

They just remodeled it, and it looks amazing.

Here is a link of how it looks. It's much better in real life. The interior is more jaw dropping.

What do you guys think?

If you find a good looking dealer please post link.

Yeah it looks like it would be more than attractive in real life...Still them Canadians are treated to an even better showroom (or should I say showcase) in Toronto.

I'm in Florida where all dealerships look better than usual, so the Bimmer dealers don't neccesarily stick out to people other than myself and fellow Bim fans!

The Mercedes-Benz dealer where I live is the king.
It's huge. (150-car indoor showroom)

I can't find a picture.

Yes, it is huge!

But Autohaus has horrible service.

And isn't there a new one? Not Knauz, but somewhere a few towns over?

Here in Orange County, Ca we have Auto Malls, where you drive in and many dealers are located in a huge oval track.

One such mall is the Santa Ana Auto Mall and when you first drive in the Honda dealer is on the right and Crevier BMW is directly across the street and they are huge and have an incredible show room about 8 cars inside on the show room floor including a BMW Z8 the last time I was there and they they have a coffee shop like a Starbucks with leather couches and chairs.

Across the street from the BMW dealer is the Bauer Jaguar where you cann also find Land Rover and Aston Martin with about 30 Astons and a few them are custom built.

Then there a Mini dealer and Audi/Volkswagen dealer, a SAAB dealer and Saturn next to the Volvo dealer.

And there are many other auto malls like the Tustin auto mall, but I think the best showroom in OC would be Fletcher Jones MotorCars which is the Mercedes-Benz dealer in Newport Beach and they must have at 500 Mercedes on the lot or maye House of Imports another Benz dealer.

Last night I went to Roger's Gardens a 100,000 sq ft nursery that is totally decorted for Christmas and across the street is Fashion Island a very highend mall in Newport Beach to see the 115 foot tall white fir Christmas tree on display and there were Audi's parked all over the place around the Christamas tree like a $56k black OQ and a $82k blue S6.

Hey, I memat to say Q7 and that is one impressive SUV, damn I voe that Q7 and for the Lexus people they have nice showrooms as well, just not as nice as Audi, BMW or Mercedes.

Normally we don't have huge indoor showrooms because the weather is so damn nice like last night it was like 65 degrees, can't beat it!

You should all move here and I'll sell you a house or find you a condo/house to rent.

"BMW 530i" I never said i live in Munich, I live in Florida. That's purley just my name because it's the home of BMW.

Here in Florida our Benz dealers look like grey blocks with windows in the front, and when I was in Toronto the Bimmer dealership tottaly outshined that of the Benz dealer on the otherside of the highway.

Any other Florida residents want to back me up on this one? Anyone who's been to & seen the Benz & Bimmer dealer in Toronto want to back me up?

I mean there's really no disputing my argument...It is what it is, not what one thinks it is. Don't get me wrong though, I'm only applying this argument to what I've seen & where I live...Mabye MB does have much more tastefull showrooms in Europe or California, but the article in topic here did state BMW seems to put together a better showroom.

Oh, if we're talking about BMW's *showrooms*, okay, fine. Maybe. But when we're talking about BMW's *cars*, the term "King of Style" is laughable.
