BMW progressive activity sedan to debut next year
Last year BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer revealed plans for several all-new models including a design study dubbed the Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS).

Beyond an obscure design brief for the new concept details have been relatively scarce, but the wait will soon be over - the car is set to make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September next year.

Spy shots of the car taken over the past year have shown the car will pick up many of the lines from the X6, and it’s expected to be available in both RWD and AWD configurations.

If the X6 is already sold out as BMW claims in the USA, then when this new V5 comes out it will be an instant success considering if it will be a lower looking version of the X6.

It appears that BMW and Audi are in a race for who can produce the most models. I like the engine offering from BMW though.

I can see the 3.0 diesel single turbo (245hp) by BMW is 5hp more than the one Audi offers.

People said the same thing about the X5. Too big. Too small. Too weird. Who wants a BMW TRUCK? And on and on. Well, a million X5's and countless imitations later, here we are listening to the same silly comments about the V5.

Let's face it folks, everything that BMW throws against the wall sticks and it sticks like super glue. Right now, they are the envy of every automotive manufacturer in the world. You may not like that fact, but it doees not change the fact.

True, that's why Infiniti is still considered as a "fake BMW" or "BMW wannabe".

I'm just curious, what is this competing with and what exactly is it? Is it supposed to be a coupe like alternative to a station wagon? is it a more car oriented version of the X6? is it a four door coupe with a hatch? I just don't understand. Won't it be taking sales away from X5 and X6, I mean its even longer than the X6 with the same amount of seats, more room and comfort apparently, but probably a similar price range. What is this car? why is it so huge with so little functionality? can anyone explain?

If it is a lower version of the x6 then it will only seat 4 people. I dont see any reason to make this car.

better if they made the 1 series a hole range of cars, 3 door, 5 door, sedan, touring, cabrio, coupe and in a better looking design than the current one.

The world need more fuel saving cars, i dont think the oilprices to drop no more.

So BigManWheels has released what the X6 should've been in the first place, a long hatchback.

Wonder if they lifted it high enough so it can be considered an SUV and not have to worry about emissions?
