BMW's M3 CSL Expected Early 2010

BMW's M3 CSL Expected Early 2010
Since the new E90 series BMW M3 was revealed at the Frankfurt Auto Show last year, true BMW enthusiasts have been intrigued, but waiting for the CSL to come along. Standing for Coupe, Sport, Lightweight, those three letters name the most track-focused and pure driver’s cars BMW has to offer. News of the new model is beginning to leak out, with reports claiming it will be on sale by the beginning of 2010.
As the name suggests, saving weight is the focus of the M3 CSL’s performance regime. Carbon fiber and carbon fiber reinforced plastic are used extensively to achieve the goal of shaving 100kg from the base car. From the front fascia to the roof to the rear diffuser, center console and door panels, the CSL has spared almost no expense in its quest to achieve lightness. Even the radio, air conditioning, navigation and heated seats, among other optional accoutrement deemed unnecessary, have been deleted to save weight.

I hope we get the CSL in the US! After driving the M3 it is hard to imagine any better. The M-DCT is best transmission I have driven in any car at any price. It will be even more stunning with extra power and less weight.

yeah stop being such a wuss and get the real transmission( manual btw)
and car and driver said they would even still prefer the 6speed manual over the new DTC.

^ correct, but that was the only article that said that. MotorTrend and Road & Track both said the M-DCT was the better transmission choice for the M3. One went as far as to say the M3 with M-DCT was "the perfect car".
And I LIKE the 6-speed stick BTW. Having driven both, I just happen to like the M-DCT MORE.

Why don't people create their own CSL... remove the hood, replace with plastic, remove the trunk, replace with plastic, replace trunk lining, replace with cardboard, rip out all carpets, find and replace with a set of used worn out tires with no treds from Walmart, and place CSL stickers all around :)

A4 comes FWD standard, the "S"4 is fitted with Quattro all wheel drive as standard.
I don't get why there is so many who just want to get an opportunity to bash a particular brand and they don't even take the time to do a little research.

Hey doucehbag, not that I agree with what he said, but what does the car he drives have to do with anything?
Are you implying that having a nice car is the only thing that makes someone qualified to post? Giving credit where credit's due, if you actually own the cars you say you do, you have a couple of pretty sweet vehicles. However, if intelligence, or the ability to make intelligent comments was directly proportional to the vehicles one owns, you'd be the president of mensa. But strangely, you're an idiot. One of the many mysteries of the universe. Like how your wife tolerates your stupid ass.
I ain't sayin' she a gold digger, uh, but i think she wit you for the bimmer...yeah

Why bother paying more for a stripped car? The carbon fiber parts will save some weight, but you end up with a fairly useless street car.

100kg is about 220lb. Try driving a regular M3 with your chubby friend and then ask him to get out and do the same drive. If you can't notice a material difference save yourself the money and enjoy having a/c and a radio in your regular M3.

Yes but the CSL will be more powerfull and more savage in its delivery, it will be a much rawer proposition than the standard M3.

I say that the CSL is a great car but it won{t be apreciated for regular car lovers but hardcore users which is an small part of the car market. If you like tracks and have the money to afford the speeding tickets, CSL is for you.
