Best and worst selling vehicles of 2007
MSNBC has released a list of the best and worst selling cars of 2007. There weren’t many surprises with the Ford F-Series topping the list once again, and the Camry making an appearance at third. The bottom of the list was dominated by luxury cars such as the Porsche Boxster, Jaguar S-Type and X-Type and the Audi A8 and S8. Read Article

We've been through this sequence before. Something about the cars on the "worst" list being a lot better than the "best" ones.

The only reason why the RL didn't make the list was because the Acura dealers are discounting the RLs at $7,000 below sticker price. The RL is a nice car at $43,00, At $50,000 it becomes a joke.

I don't think Jaguar brand will survive next 2 years from now..especially here in the U.S.
It has chance in small market in europe or India or something...

Actually their are two makes on this list that do not belong. Both the Porsche Boxster and the Audi A8/S8 do not belong on this list. It is a very vague list at that. What determines a worst seller? What facts do you base this on? Not well known to the public the Audi A8 had it's US production cut nearly 50% to accomodate other markets with as well as the Boxster which had production cut nearly 40%. Based on that you can not help but sell less cars than the year before but I guess whom ever wrote this article didn't think that would matter. Facts aren't really important unless they prove the point you wish to make. And for Toyota and the Camary, I would have to guess it is the flood of offerings they have within the brand. Too many choices have lurred buyers to other models but Toyota I'm sure is not slipping in overall sales as I know that Audi is not. Jag on the other hand, I would have to agree with nicehomer, I don't see them making the grade too much longer. I feel sorry for all the folks that bought them. There gonna wind up like all the Daewoo owners, high and dry!

I wonder how they came up with "worst selling" and the determinant criteria. What does it really mean..low volume??? if so where are the exotics, how about AMG or RS models? Sales vs. projected, year on year change? What is a manufacturer wanted to sell 1000 cars and sold 1200. Will they make the list? Best selling makes sense..worst selling is meaningless whichever way you slice it..

Kudos for "TheGenius"'s reply on 12/28/2007 9:55:17 AM. There are many low-volume vehicles, such as Rolls Royce, in which "number of units sold" is a metric that is useful only within a very limited context.
