Even though Bmw lately brought its 1-Series to the US, only the coupe and convertible body styles were available to American customers. However, on the other side the ocean Bmw makes available the 1-Series in 3- and 5-door hatchbacks in addition to those that are available in the US markets mentioned above. That range appears to be growing to five models as Bmw is reportedly thinking about one more 1-Series derivative.

According to Bmw’s product development head, Klaus Draeger, the German carmaker is thinking about a ’shooting brake’ variant of the 1-Series. The shooting brake would be identical in concept to the 3-door 1-Series, but would adopt the flowing lines and low-positioned roof of a two-door coupe.
