i figured it would be priced around the audi R8. I dont know if i like it more than the R8 or the upcoming NSX.

If BMW wants to price this car correctly it had better look at the Fisker Karma pricing because that car is also a great looking car. The karma has a total of 403hp compaired to 360 something hp for the i8. The karma also gets aroung 100 mpg, compaired to the alleged 78 mpg the i8 should get. I'm waiting for the base price on the i8 and then i'll decide which car i'll purchase. I suggest Bavarian Motor Works (BMW) do their homework and price this car accordingly.
