Bob Lutz claims pushing Corvette ZR-1 over 200mph
Our very reliable sources had a sit down with ‘the Lutz’ last night on the eve of the 2007 LA Auto Show. Bob Lutz, Vice Chairman of GM, was nothing but friendly about sharing what GM has in the works.

While many of you think the 75 year Lutz may not have much ‘need-for-speed,’ our sources say that during casual conversation over dinner, Lutz mentioned that he personally pushed the upcoming Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 over...

The big difference between the LF-A and the Corvette is the Corvette actually exists.

Hah - the LF-A had to be redesigned so it could break 200mph. Get a clue, troll.

Your comments are unwarranted and wrong.

Lexus is not #1 luxury car company. They are not a company, but a division. Besides, this is about Corvette. Where does it mention LF-A in the article?

Please shut up about Lexus.
It hasn't produced any world beating performance car.

Not really a surprise, since the Z06 is already very close to 200mph.

Another idiotic Lexus fanboy post. Shockingly the current Z06 already beats the LF-A 'projected' stats so yes you are delusional. Anyways...The Corvette ZR1 is a response to the once rumored Viper power increase which is now a reality. Most liekly will be the most fuel efficient 600HP in existance as well.

I will sweat bullets pulling up to it in my 997S even with its SC!

Porschinator, than maybe you need to trade for the upcoming Nissan GT-R. Lexusking, stop talking you making all of the other true Lexus fan look bad.

The Lexus LF-A does NOT even compete with the Corvette or the Viper.

I have alot of respect for the Chevy Corvette for all of its achievements over the decades, but considering it's one of GM/Chevy's heritage vehicles, maybe they should start off by using a different steering wheel, so it is not the same as the Chevy malibu, Saturn Aura, and the Chevy Cobalt etc...The turn signals and wiper switches are also the same as the Malibu, Aura, Trailblazer, SAAB 97x(Trailblazer again ;-} )...and possibly all other GM fleets. It would be nice to go fast(especially 200 mph plus) in a more distinguished style Mr. Bob "have no clue" Lutz...LMAO!!!

GM would be more better "without" Bobby Boy. He is just a ball and chain to the corporation.

I don't know how you would justify that comment. I see Bob as a major asset to GM.

By the time this vette version hits the road---it will already be over taken by all the other car companies that have a zr1 killer in the works or on the road. Plus can you imagine what the fucking dealers are going to surcharge for this car. At least nissan has a cure for this problem in the works by voiding the warranty if that car is turned over in 1 year.

Also, chevy dealers can't even fix regular vettes and the Z06. Can you see pulling into the dealer with the zr1 if it has problems (and it will). Good luck. PS I hate GM dealers

Yeah, we couldn't tell by your post.

I think GM should perhaps limit who gets to sell this particular Vette. Maybe only let the top 25 Vette retailers in the nation offer the car. Make sure the dealers have at least two certified master techs specifically trained on all high performance Vettes from ZR1 to Z06 and others. They should have well established and proven track records with high levels of CSI and service SSI scores. They should be required to keep in stock all parts needed to properly service and maintain the car. Additionally, a service loaner of an upgraded level should be provided at no charge to the client for the warranty period. The warranty period should be 4 yrs with no limitation on mileage. The client should be assigned to a specific service writer who will take care of that car and whoever owns it, for the life of the car or as long as it remains in the dealer service area. That service writer will be one who has tenure at the dealership and consistantly the highest SSI scores. The offer of a free car wash upon vehicle return to the customer should also be made. Note, I did not say wash the car! I said the offer should be made. Many Vette owners don't want anyone touching their cars much less letting a dealer wash it. The offer is what the client will appreciate the most. Best of all, it's free to the dealer most of the time and creates good will.

I know this will not be popular amongst independent Chevy dealer principles who will probably want to order and keep one of the cars for themselves, but it must be done for this type of client.
