Brawn GP takes a memorable one-two victory at the Australian GP

It was back in 1954 when Mercedes-Benz made its debut in the Formula 1 Championship and achieved a memorable one-two victory with Juan Manuel Fangio and Karl Kling.

Today the history repeats because Brawn GP (for those who don’t know this team is actually the ex-Honda F1 team), the new F1 team who made its debut today, with the help of Jensen Button and Rubens Barichello took a one-two victory at the Australian Grand Prix. The race was really impressive and it seems that with the new rules, this F1 championship will be really exciting and it will make us forget about the boring fight between Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz. Good work Brawn!

IMO Button really won the race and Barichello got a bit lucky and jumped 2 places when 2nd and third placers took each other out late in the race. Nevertheless, Kudos to Brawn.

but in all seriousness, Barichello should've been out of the race at the very beginning the minute he charged into turn one. I was surprised he didn't even get penalized for that. Commentators showed a reply and even said he was the cause of that massive collision that a couple drivers to DNF. Not cool man.

Just because of safety car, kubica managed to come so near to button. His victory was not at all possible, Brawns were just cruising not pushing unlike kubica, Jenson might have lapped upto p4, p5 positions such was the pace of Brawns.

anyway what a stunning race and beginning of season. Two rebadge Hondas and a Toyota on the podium. great. I think Brawn and Toyota are the quickest at the moment, with BMW and Williams not far.

Kubica crashed when he was over-taking the 2nd place which was Vettel if I'm not mistaken. He was on hard compound tires at the time, and because of that he was at an advantage. It was a good race though :)

Kubica was just plain lucky to be there at the right time and most importantly with the right tyres. But with 3 laps to go and roughly 3 seconds gap to button and vettel still to pass(supposing he passed vettel cleanly). Even with all this luck a win for kubica would have been very very tough.
