Breaking: Lexus GS-F in the works!

if the price of the LFA is about $400k with the V10 engine in it what the hell is going to be the price of the GS-F if it uses the same V10 engine $200k.....because if the car doesnt price match the M5, or E63 they can forget about that car competing with anyone.

Instead of them maaking a GSF sedan why dont they remake the SC460 how old is that thing going on 9 years old......pretty damn old for a design to be out there.

But staying green isn't really staying green. The process to get those batteries made will harm the planet even more in the long run. But I guess most consumers will be too naive anyways. I guess it's better to put it this way. Drop the LS600s hybrid set up to give the car good performance while giving good city/hwy mileage.

Isn't smart effective marketing what every business spend millions to achieve? If people believe Toyota is green, Toyota sells more vehicle, the marketing boys have done their job. It's all about making as much money as possible, just ask the euros why they always over charge for just about everything they import here from Vodkas to Porsches. Even when they've built plants here to save money they still continue to overcharge, I've never heard of Armani or Ferrari feeling a bit bad for suckering us. With the exception of VW and UV vodkas, they've successfully convinced people that overpaying is somehow a good thing. On the other hand, the Koreans and americans can't convince us to pay more.

Toyotas goal was to convince the public to accept and adopt an accountability mindset. Toyota and Al Gore along with many celebrities who bought pruis has gottened that hard part down. If we become complacent and just let things slide, it'll just be like this healthcare thing where our slackerness only benefit a few super rich companies who see no reason to want to change. Everyone knows it'll eventually bring us down one day, but many(GOP) uses everything in their power to derail anyone from trying to do something about it. Not saying hybrid or full electric is the better way to go, but at least someone is doing something by offering an alternative.

The more we chip away at finding another solution, the more we'll learn and will succeed in finding a solution to making smaller more powerful batteries that cost less both financially and environmentally to produce. The internal combustion engine had over a hundred years of refinement, the tires and other components had also gone through almost just as much. Imagine if the nay sayers have won? We'd all be still riding horses today.

As far as long term environmental damage, Humans will always find a way to solve the problems they caused, it just needs some major crisis and/or some guinea pigs to pay the price and a leader to lead the way. In our case, Bush and the Kuwaities cause an unstability in the middle east to remind people just how easy our lives could be affected by mad men. Toyota sees the opportunity and leads the way with hybrid technology and people bought it. Now the euro want in and tries to market us diesels, but we ain't going for it, we'd rather vote republican before we vote diesel.

Just dropping in the LS600s setup is not the best way to go. It's batteries are currently too big and that adds weight which could effect handling and acceleration. A next gen lithium ion unit will have to be used or better yet, the super fast charging capacitor from the dominating Toyota hybrid race car.

BTW, why can't they market a hybrid performance vehicle as a green vehicle instead of one that just gets good performance and good MPG? Isn't using less gas to achieve the same performance already make it more GREEN? The battery is waranteed for at least 10yrs, engines and other current components don't even last or waranteed anywhere near that before needing replacing especially americans and europeans vehicles. That would make hybrid vehicles even less environmentally damaging.

Lol I wouldn't go as far as saying the M5 crowd will have hell on their hands but they will have another option besides the M5, XFR, E63 and S/RS6, which in my opinion are all very good and very refined. I expect the same from the GS-F because this is a tough crowd to impress. Each have their own niche and specialties whether it's hammer blows or precision attacks each impress and teases the mind of the curious.

I wouldnt bank on that because besides a V10 engine what else will it have and more importantly HOW MUCH WILL IT COST. as i said above if they are using that V10 from the LFA I hope the price of the GS-F matches those of the E63, M5, or S6, whoever buys a $200k GS is a damn fool. also you have to have handling and cornering in the bag and also if this car comes with the ridiculous looking DTM BODYKITS like the IS-F thats going to hurt lexus also. so for them to beat out an M5 they need to make the complete package and not just market a V10 engine. It will have some very stiff competition to beat out the german BIG 3....IMO.
