I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.

Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari F599 race ends in Veyron getting a ticket
A Bugatti Veyron was pulled over by cops after racing a Ferrari 599 GTB on a motorway at 130mph. The two raced through a 50mph construction zone. The race ended with police catching up to the Bugatti in their BMW, pulling over the 253mph Veyron. The Ferrari 599 GTB, capable of 205mph, zoomed off.

Witnesses said that the high-speed race/chase went on for at least 10 minutes with both cars weaving across all three lanes of the highway.

Police said that they officially clocked the Bugatti at...

Anyone know where this occurred? Can't be in the US. We don't have any BMWs as police interceptors.

For $117 and 3 pts. I would do it a couple more times. I don't even understand why the Bugatti didn't just pull off and leave both the cop and the Ferrari. The only thing I can think is that he probably wasn't a very good driver.

Did you read the article? It wasn't a drag race, which is the only thing the Bugatti is capable of.

GTR35, have you ever seen, let alone driven, a Bugatti Veyron? If not, don't talk.

Haven't had the pleasure of driving one but I have seen a few at the LA Auto show and in BH in one occasion. Now, why are you so hurt S4? Because truth hurts, maybe?

What truth, GTR35?

Considering you have only seen it at an auto show, how do you know it can't take corners? I've heard from reputable magazines that it handles brilliantly, especially considering its size and weight.

Because people say some incredibly stupid things about the car. Mostly out of jealousy. Of course I haven't driven one either, but it's just odd to make unfounded comments like that. It's obvious to me that, no matter how heavy/straight-line-based the Veyron may be, it will still be fun to turn with.

GTR35,thats why journalists who review the Bugatti Veyron are amazed at the handling capabilities of a car that weighs 2 tonne. Especially with ESP off :P

Someone who can afford a Bugatti probably doesn't care about speeding fines.

There are probably 2 or 3 bugattis in the UK and considerably more of the ferraris. I'm sure the police would have no trouble tracking down the bugatti and he would be in alot more trouble then.

There are probably more than that. I saw two next to each other in the BRDC clubhouse car park at Silverstone Circuit last year.

Not much can humble a guy in a GTB like a Veyron can when it rips past it.. at any speed.. without even flooring it. I just hope he didn't actually believe he had a fighting chance.

The picture in the article showing the butts of those 2 cars looks awesome.

That's the only view I'd ever see of them on the road...

Interesting to see that the sign in the background indicates that there are average speed cameras on that stretch of road (I hate them b**t**d things... so much worse than Gatso's or Truvelo's)

10 minutes at 130mph? thats 20 miles worth of speed camera's to be going through. Each one could earn you 3 points each, 12 points is a ban....

I think one of the reasons the driver stopped is it's pretty easy to figure out the owner of the vehicle... Not like there is a ton of them out there...

Just my 2 cents
