We are in a funny world these days in the car business.
People are making buying decisions that could confound even the saaviest auto marketers.
Some who used to drive 7-Series are now driving MINI's and Prius'.
Others who drove E-Class cars now call the Audi A3 home.
Or Acura MDX drivers are tooling around in Ford F-150's and Explorers.
In other words becuase of todays quality and choice, it's NOT a given that a Lexus driver will come back and buy another Lexus.
In the NEW world it's ANYBODY'S game.
Which brings us to the segment that has the most to win or lose for car companies.
The small crossover market.
Move over BMW X3, MB GLK and Audi Q5, there are new contenders coming after you.
With some REALLY impressive efforts.
Take for example the all new 2013 Ford Escape.
Here was a crossover that in it's old guise had NOTHING that could conquest someone from a premium brand like Lexus.
But the NEW Escape, now that's another story.
Ford really brought the A+ game with them on this redesign and AutoSpies.com is predicting it is not only going to SMACK the usual suspects but we think you will see defections from some premium brand offerings.
And even though a lot of customers can afford much more expensive rides they are choosing NOT to overspend or look frivolous.
So our question today in our popular CAR WARS segment is on EXTERIOR design ALONE, WHICH is better looking? Audi Q5 or all new Ford Escape?
