Cadillac to offer production CTS Coupe and Provoq in 2 years
Cadillac is planning to start production next year for global sale. The GM brand has already shown the Provoq and CTS coupe concept and is also working on a CTS wagon version to compete with the 3-Series and C-Class wagons in Europe.
Replacing the Cadillac SRX crossover will be a production version of the Provoq concept, hitting markets as a 2010 model. Unlike the concept Cadillac will not offer a fuel-cell version of the production Provoq. Cadillac General Manager Jim Taylor believes Cadillac will be able to sell 60,000 to 70,000 units of the production Provoq annually. Last year, the brand sold 22,543 units of the SRX in the U.S.

2 years? This seems a bit lengthy IMO. Then Again we have been seeing the Camaro for years and I still cant get my hands on one. So I would go on to say the article is probably right.

Both concepts are fairly new..... and it being a Cadillac i see no need to rush this project and make a huge mistake and ruin their momentum that they are enjoying now.

Damiko. I see your point but I dont know how that would affect their momentum. A copue buyer and small SUV buyer wouldnt look much at cadillac right now and these vehicles would surely propel the brand right now.

With the recent success with the CTS, for the first time in years many enthusist are looking at the CTS, and the CTS-V as a world class contender in the sports sedan market. Rushing these to vehicles to market could cause some bugs in the production units, and GM has been fighting mis conception that they make bad cars for a long time now. GM offers one of if not the longest warranty on thier luxuary cars longe then Mercadise or BMW (100,000 miles) yet another feature that makes a complex car like this more attractive then the first mention brands, becuase with all the latest options on most any luxury car can be very expensive to fix.

I wanna like the CTS coupe and from some angles it looks great... but is it me, or does it look really chunky?

cant wait to see these cars....hopefully the CTS coupe will be faster than the already great sedan though.....as a 6.3 second 0-60 time wont be competitive with the other coupes it intends on competing with

I am hoping they'll tweak the DI V6 to about 325bhp and offer it with a manual 6-speed, personally.
