Canadian auto sales up 10.3% in May

For most automakers, the question in May was not whether they would be up compared to May ’06, but by how much.
Look at the numbers. Ford up 9.4%, BMW up 28.3%, Nissan up 62%. Overall, the Canadian auto market was up 10.3%.
Most of the growth went to import nameplates. In total they were up 16.9%. Domestics were up 4.7%, a good effort but overshadowed by the overall performance of the industry.
