Caterham Delivers A 500 HP 1200 LB Road Rocket!
As if 400 HP weren’t enough for the cart-like Seven roadster, Caterham has introduced an even more extreme version of the car developed in conjunction with niche engineering house, “RS Performance”.

Dubbed as the Seven RST-V8, the ultimate Caterham packs a supercharged 2.4-liter 40-valveV8 engine that delivers more than 500 bhp at 10,000 rpm and 300 lbs-ft or torque at 8,500 rpm

You guys are right -- it's a death waiting to happen, unless the driver is an experienced racer.

Oddly, it reminded me of the true story from the '60's when Bill Cosby had one of the first 2 427 Cobras and drove it one day and took it back to Carroll Shelby. If I remember correctly, the person that purchased it afterwards died either testing or racing on a closed course.

You're right, but it was a twin supercharged 427 "super snake," as if the regular 427 cobra wasn't overpowered enough.

That was one of the 2 or 3 Super Cobras that were built. It was twin to the one that was recently sold by Carroll Shelby at auction. And I think that the guy who died was just out running it on public roads not racing just going too fast for his experience.
