Before you get too riled up, this isn't a real official drawing by Chevrolet or GM, and I drew this in my spare time, but I think that it would be a great move for General Motors because the Astro van has been really popular, in both passenger and cargo varients. It would be much better than the Uplander, and I don't think that the new lamda crossovers are selling very well-despite the fact that they are great cars-and GM could sell the Astro along side. Plus, GMC could rebadge it as te Safari like the old Astro and they could make a profit with that as well.I don't think that it would be too difficult to build and design it either because the interior could use shared parts with the tahoe/suburban/silverado, and they have great interiors. The exterior may be costly but the return profit would be huge! To make the cargo van just gut the interior and use the lesser silverado dash. The drivetrain could come out of the lamda crossovers or an opptional small Vortec V-8. I can't see any flaw in my plan, other than the drawing of course, and I really think GM should reconsider. What do you think?
