While General Motors prepares for the launch of the 2011 Chevrolet Volt for Nov.

2010, the automaker is already studying where else it could apply the hybrid-electric technology in its product lineup. According to Jon Lauckner, GM’s vice president of global program management, one place might be the new Chevrolet Orlando seven-passenger crossover.

Are they finished with the Volt powertrain yet? Putting all your eggs into one basket is a gamble, GM. Especially when that basket was lent to you by taxpaying citizens of America.

I think that this makes alot of sense for them since they are in need to spread the cost of the power train around and reduce cost of the Volt and other EV's later on. They would be wise to place the power train option in every small to midsize car they make.
