Chicago Auto Show: 2010 Acura TSX V6

Scheduled to be available for sale in the middle of 2009, Acura has introduced its V6-powered variant of the TSX sports sedan at today’s Chicago Auto Show.

It comes with the 3.5-liter V6 derived from the TL and RL which yields 280hp (209kW).

A stiffer suspension has been installed to compensate for the additional power yield together with new control setting for Acura’s Sequential SportsShift 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters derived from the F1. The wheels, which are wrapped with Michelin Pilot all-season rubber, are 18-inch aluminum. Besides bigger wheels, the TSX is made distinct from its 4-cylinder version by a slightly modified front face and V6 marking. The new TSX, like other Acura models, comes with a standard power monoroof, automatic climate control, high quality sound system with 7 speakers and is equipped with SM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth hands-free and USB and aux ports.

I can't imagine how nose heavy this will be. 65/35?

Why wouldn't they use the 3.2 from the old TL or better yet the 3.0 from the old Accord? Then the MPG would have made it that much better.

Well I guess I can't knock it until someone test drives it.

Wait... does this mean maybe the TL will get a V8?

Acura has zero appeal among enthusiasts. FWD and horrible balance doesn't sound like a formula for fun.

Acura is slowly turning into a MILF brand. Right behind the Audi non "S" or non "RS" sedans. Audi and Acura are building Harmless Milf Cars. MikeyDred/Blackura, is this the type of vehicle that will put Acura back on the map? I mean what car does Acura have that can beat out a G37 much less a BMW? I'm glad that I'm not an Acura Fan. First the underperforming pig TL, now this.

Its a start lexsuxs, jus remember its not over til the fat lady sings, Acura is making some funny looking cars at the moment, but their business strategy will keep them out of bankruptcy court. Also this new V6 TSX will sell! Mark my words...assuming the price is right. Also, this is just the start, Acura has something under its sleeve...

Say what you will, this car is going to fly. And those of you who really think that there's any difference in weight and balance between a 3.0, 3.2, or a 3.5 liter is greatly mistaken. How much weight would .5 liters add to the overall weight?

Also, here's a link to show you that the TL's handling, not just straightline acceleration, is on par or better than most of its competitors.

Everyone knows that specific test was trumped up. The new 2009 Acura TL is a yawner and has created zero buzz. Acura builds lame whack cars. I'd question anyone taste or car knowledge for liking a car like that. The TSX looks nicer but offers all the excitement of a Toyota Corolla.

Whoa golfer38....I sell Acuras...but what you just posted a link to was a car that has been SHELVED for the time being...AWD 6SP Manual TL with 305hp....we don't even know if this car will be produced (it should..but it should also come with 350+hp)....
The TSX has always been underpowered...this car should be a pretty decent driver with good performance...and with that said....the power is still going to the wrong wheels...

Why are they doing this. Doesn't this make the TL and RL redundant. They are all about the same size and power. Ok I will admit there are some differences in overall space but not by much. Its sort of like the space difference between a Camry,Malibu and Fusion.

not to mention a fully loaded accord, TL, TSX are very close in price, while the Accord is larger than the TSX, and the RL being about the same size as the TL while sharing alot of the same components and engines. The Honda Accord top model is arguably just as nice on the inside as the TL, and TSX it kinda makes them all look like whats the point

If only they'd dropped the rdx's turbo 4 in as the base engine, had this v6 for the type-s, and offered sh-awd on both, this car would have been an a4 killer.

If only Honda cared about building competitive cars instead of making money. You don't have to build comparison winning cars in order for them to sell. Honda isn't interested in building class winning vehicles. Their advertising might state that the cars are competive, but reality is a different thing alltogether
