Chrysler Says It Has At Least One Buyer For The Viper
Speaking yesterday at an Automotive Press Association event, Chrysler Vice Chairman and President Jim Press revealed that Chrysler has “been approached by outside individuals who want to work with us to buy the asset and sustain Viper going forward.” Who are they outside individuals? Well that’s a secret, of course. But someone, hopefully, maybe, wants to buy the rights and equipment to make the Viper in the future. Read Article

The interior heat is like a oven. When you have the top down and it is over 60 degrees you have to run the a/c. The car sounds like a UPS truck as the v10 sounds nothing like a v8. Shall I go on?

You have no idea what the Viper is all about. I really hope there's a more deserving owner driving it right now grinning ear to ear.

From what I've read in the past, most owners don't complain about the lack of power. They do complain about the squeaks & rattles after just a short period of ownership.

I don't think Viper has won over any owners with its interiro also.

hk4site, did you have the 1st gen or the current gen. The current gen sound is quite diff, and why did you get the car thinking a V10 was going sound like a V8...Common sense would dictate it wouldn't, and didn't you hear it before you bought it. Everybody know that the Viper is a "No compromises" car, again Common sense tell you this. Just say you made a bad decision in buying a car and leave it at that...

hk4site, I didn't ask you how many or what cars you have owned. Too much info, or did you want feel important? I ask was it a 1st gen car or not? That was all. And as I stated before, why would you expect a V10 to sound like a V8. And you said you've owned Mustangs, when everybody knows that the mustang is a bargain basement sports car, based on a 30 yr Fox body chassis, known to hop over any road imperfection.

I think the amount of cars hk4site has owned does give some insight on his knowledge of how cars "feel" and where the Viper compares in "his" opinion. I personally have never liked the Viper not even how they looked. But I have never owned one either.

If you didn't like the sound of the V10 then why on earth would you buy aother vehicle with the same engine???

Thank You, hk4site, that was all I needed. A simple answer to a simple question.

tkindred, no the amount of cars owned does not give one insight. One can just blow away money on the latest thing, or gotta have, just because they have the money.

njshift, I was wondering the same thing....

Atleast it will still be produced, it would be a tragic day for the Automotive world if the Viper died
