Chrysler Signs Deal With China's Chery
The first Made-in-China Chrysler cars, built by Chery Automobile Co., could reach the United States or Europe within 30 months, as ambitious Chinese rivals race to penetrate the world's big auto markets.
The two partners will develop, manufacture and distribute Chery-made small and sub-compact cars in North America, Europe and other major automotive markets under Chrysler brands.

I remember looking back long ago at Chery's auto lineup.
I was humoured to find that their flagship model boasts "a brake fluid level warning system".
Sheesh. I honestly can't imagine a Chery subcompact.

I heard this on the news this morning, Chrysler is so desperate its partnering with just ANYONE. Who the hell is Chery automobiles?

Coming from a Chinese person...this is hilarious!

But I bet China makes cars better quality than Chrysler. Chrysler is bottom of the chain nowadays. I've sat in the Chrysler 300/300C and the Aspen they are horrific!. Maybe even the plastics of Chery Automobiles are better.

It is cheaper labour I believe and with a struggling company finance is the major thing to keep a business going. Who knows I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that their sub-compact cars will be of decent quality. Definitely not the greatest but perhaps better than what the Chrysler plants can build.

chery only been in the car industry for 10 years, they try to catch, eventually they probably will catch up with other car industry like toyota etc. just like korean or jap cars when first introduce it has it own problem.
