Chrysler Unveils Cuda Concept At SEMA
Looks like all those rumors about Chrysler reviving the ‘Cuda (Barracuda) nameplate were true after all. A series of scoop pictures were taken from the SEMA showroom in Las Vegas today giving us a sneak peak of what Chrysler has in store for us tomorrow morning. For the time being however, there’s no info whatsoever on the new ‘Cuda but it's obvious that the concept is based on the 2009 Dodge Challenger and that it's wearing a Dodge Charger interior. Uhh, Earth to Chrysler: YOU HAVE NO PLYMOUTH.

Also... the rear flanks look identical to those on the Camaro concept, and I can't say it's very distinctive when compared to that Chevy or Dodge's own upcoming Challenger.

^ Not really since the 'Cuda was a Plymouth nameplate, and Chrysler Barracuda just doesn't work.

Really, who needs/wants a 'badge-engineered' version of the (still unreleased) Dodge Challenger?

Get the Dodge version right and in-production first and foremost!

The Prowler was a Plymouth brand also. When Plymouth went down it was moved to Crysler. This is a non issue, you are reaching.

In other news stick with the Challenger, the cars are too simmilar. And why promote the Charger interior. It stopped me from bying one two years ago and I'm sure will stop me from buying one next year.

I have to disagree with you. The whole point of a car like this is history and nostalgia. There was no history with the Prowler when Plymouth went out of business, so the nameplate was easily transfered to Chrysler. But the Cuda is probably the most significant car in Plymouth's history, it was and still is an icon. So think about this, what if Ford had gone out of business in the 90s and then in 2005 the Mustang was released with Mercury badges? It just wouldn't be right.

Chyrsler is not going after auto historians here. If people are attracted to this retro muscle car look the'll buy it.It does not matter if they break the rules. It gets down to whether people will want it.
