Chrysler promises seven new vehicles by 2010
Jim Press has finished making his rounds at Chrysler dealerships talking about the company’s plans to launch electric cars and taking shots at GM’s Chevrolet Volt. Press was in California last week showing dealers three prototypes of plug-in EVs and talking about future products which could include as many as nine new vehicles by 2010.
Press was reported to have confirmed seven new vehicles by 2010 while executive John Campi on the other hand is saying Chrysler will introduce nine new vehicles. The difference in numbers, according to Free Press, is probably because of what both executives consider an updated to an existing model or a brand new model. Seven or nine - either way we’re excited to see what Chrysler has planned.
Some analysts are guessing that Chrysler is working on a new...

First I want Chrysler to tell me what mistakes they made and what they learned from their mistakes.

Maybe you should pose that question to Daimler. Chrysler was doing just fine until they were taken over by them. Perhaps the lesson learned is "don't sell out to an arrogant German company!"

Agreed. Some companies do well on their own. In hindsight, the two (DaimlerBenz & Chrysler) should just collaborated (instead of merging -- read: purchase) to produce new vehicles for their prospective markets. And they could've shared all types of technology w/o having to deal with consumer perceptions as much.
~~~~~
Honestly, how does a "merger of equals" make sense if one company is basically buying the other? Didn't any of Chrysler's investors research the Nissan-Renault deal?
~~~~~
I think Chrysler, as whole, has great concepts, but not enough technology to correctly execute them. When they do release a great vehicle, it's hindered by quality issues that overshadow good exterior & mechanical designs.

And are these really "new" vehicles or just cosmetic updates (interior quality) or actual redesigns of current models and new models being added to the existing/modified line-ups?

I used to hate the Chrysler PT Cruiser until I drove one, well equipped, nicely laid out, plenty of room and comfortable, nothing went wrong and nothing broke, the doors fit and close easily, likewise the boot, the handling was ok, it is excellent round town and on the freeway, I prefer it to Chevrolet, I still don`t like the styling and have since bought a BMW, I don`t regret buying the BMW but I still have a soft spot for the ugly Chrysler

We have a PT Criuser. It is a money Pit trust me. It is like a 15 year old Hyundai in build quality. It was overpriced and a waste of money. Nice idea shitty execution, and did I mention that for as small of a car it is the gas mileage is garbage. They should keep the Cruiser, update it and put more underpowered and more fuel efficient engines in it. Please get rid of the: Aspen, Durango, Ram, Avenger and bring in competitive fuel efficient cars (especially Hornet not made in China). The Magnum could have been fixed also, they could have put a Hybrid engine in that. Plus they could have had a 25-30 MPG powertrain for the Mag. I see 10 times more Mags on the road than Aspens or Durangos. Oh well, it might be bye bye Crapsler anyway.
