Chrysler says that the next-generation Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger that are due for the 2011 model year will exceed the tougher fuel-economy standards that will take effect in two years. Frank Klegon, Chrysler’s executive vice president of product development, says that the two 2011 models will beat the industry-wide average of 31.6 mpg by 2015.

“These vehicles will be CAFE-positive,” Klegon told Automotive News. “The U.S government has not released regulations for the new corporate average fuel economy law, we think we know what it is.”
