Chrysler to be smaller, partner with giants and built higher-quality cars
The big shots of Chrysler, CEO Bob Nardelli along with Jim Press and Tom LaSorda, have a different vision of Chrysler than what is considered as being one of the ‘Big Three.’ In a recent interview with The Detroit News, the three spoke of a Chrysler that will be smaller, partner with others and will built fewer but higher quality products.

Chrysler has “a long way to go” but is on the road to profitability, Nardelli said. “Getting there will require being smaller.”

Seem like a good plan. Hope them the best because the market is really smacking them around.

After all the broken promises of the years, does anyone think that they will deliver? If yes, what makes it different this time around?

I think they will downsize they need to w/ the new ownership and management if they want to make some $$ and pull themselves out of the hole they have

The broken promises were actually from the company that raped them and left them for dead (Daimler). They were a very promising company with exciting products as well as the most innovative of the American manufacturers until the "merger of equals" took place. Remember the 90's and all the beautiful concepts that became reality? After the German invasion, the best management, designers and engineers headed elsewhere. Lutz ended up at GM, for example, and look where gM has come from to where they are now as far as products are concerned. The profits will come eventually.

I read from 'thecarconnection' that the next generation Nissan Titan will be based off the Dodge Ram. That's a huge surprise.

"The Titan, you may know, will continue, though its next iteration will be based upon Chrysler’s big Ram, and will be built for Nissan by the U.S. maker"
