Chrysler worried about quality of China-built cars
To quell fears of substandard quality for products sourced from its Chinese partner Chery Auto, Chrysler personnel will be on hand in China early in the development and manufacturing phases to ensure that the cars meet global quality and safety standards.

Should we be worried about Chinese built cars? Anyone remember the 1 star rating of the Brilliance BS6

I can think of plenty of reasons not to buy them!

1) they're not Japanese.
2) they're not German.
3) no magic feel.
4) not overpriced
5) Hyundai/Kia suks.
6) did I say not Japanese?

Will, your six reasons are total BS. If you are trying to make us laugh, you did not succeed.

When buying a new vehicle, most intelligent buyers look at things such as:

- Cost to buy and maintain the vehicle, including taxes and insurance
- Local dealership and service experience
- Vehicle capabilities matched with particular user needs
- Objective and subjective assessment (guesstimate!) of quality, durability, etc.

Thank goodness there are still some people in the world who don't shop solely on brand name alone.

That said, i am not aware of a single chinese car that is worthy of driving in North America, and I don't support companies that are blatantly copying and reverse-engineering the hard work of existing automakers. When it comes to large investments like health, home, and auto -- buy the best quality you can afford.

Isn't there a plant in china that builds BMWs and if so why can't they use mainline manufactures designs to build quality cars?
